yea its crazy... you can shoot arrows too.

honestly i have only done it once or twice. im not sure if i just havent figured it out or what, but not being able to repair items is annoying as all hell.

Finally got around to playing this. Not too far, the King just revealed himself and I got off the plateau. Interesting experience going from Horizon to this. They have a very similar vibe in that it's mostly forest surrounding decayed and ancient technology. Horizon is a little more modern than Zelda, but still, really feels like deja vu in a way.

Is the Old Man in the original Zelda, [blackout]The King as well[/blackout]?

I'm surprised MatPat hasn't done a video on the identity of the Old Man. :hehe:

How do they keep pulling out top games with this series every time ? So impressive to maintain over such a long time.

It's certainly an achievement. Even when they stumble with Skyward Sword and stuff like Triforce Heroes they still manage to pack a lot of good into the game. Breath of the Wild is definitely their crowning achievement so far. It's stellar.

I've been gushing over this game since I got it and I was one of its biggest skeptics. The game feels like they listened to me directly. They seriously have addressed every issue I had with the previous game and then went beyond that.

The wife wanted a Switch and Zelda at launch so we got it and I've played it more than she has lol

The game is indeed amazing. I just got my Wolf Link from the Twilight Princess Amiibo and it increased my love for the game even more.

The attention to detail and depth of this game is astounding. I prefer it to Elder Scrolls and the majority of the Zelda series. And that makes it a huge win imo.

Any word on if Nintendo is going release a patch to address the terrible framerate issues on Wii U?

The frame rate drops like crazy for me on the Switch too. But not on the handheld version--only when I'm playing it through the TV.

The Guardians are about to make me rage quit this game for good. I am so ****ing sick of them.

Finally got to Goron City after getting rhino humped by a few Guardians. The fire proof armor was a pain to get, but I'm glad I did the little quest for it.

Also, I'm a little disappointed we didn't get amiibo for the Champions in the game. I love the design of the Ruto and Goron Champion. They'd make great amiibo.

i havent had any frame rate issues... maybe i just haven't noticed.... some advice... explore the entire great plateau before meeting the old man at the temple of time... I went straight to it but have seen videos etc of the old man in other areas, teaching you how to cook etc...

The Guardian Shield will automatically reflect Guardian's shots back at them, just by holding up your shield.

Every shield (maybe not the cooking lids...) can reflect their shots, but only if you parry. Hold out your shield, and right as soon as the shot is about to hit your shield, press A and Link will swing his shield and reflect their shots.

The Guardian shield you don't need to parry, you can just stand their with your shield out.

Yeah. I just hit a patch of Guardians on Death Mountain that I wasn't at all prepped for. Just got me frustrated.

Yeah, tried to get the Hyrule Field tower. Pretty much covered by two guardians. Kept shooting me down. I am hearing horror stories about Lynels, though...

The Lynel's are pretty awful too. I finally found Robbie's lab to get some gear for wrecking the Guardians. Next I gotta grind out the Rupee's to make it happen.

Why can't Nintendo make a Pokemon game like this?
they said they will be making a game for the switch it's a coming. I didn't say it'll (or more to it it hasn't be said by them ) be like BOTW though in that it's open world though. "Yet"

Why Link doesn’t have his iconic, pointy hat in Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is full of stuff to wear on your head. Mysterious hoods, rugged bandanas, armored helmets — you have a lot of choices when covering up Link’s weird, tiny ponytail and scruffy sideburns. But if you’re a diehard Zelda fan, you’re probably craving a little bit of Link’s classic, green pointy hat, and wondering why it wasn’t included. The short answer: It didn’t look great. “As the graphic fidelity has increased it becomes more difficult to make that hat look cool,” said Breath of the Wild art director Satoru Takizawa in an interview during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. “As the game becomes more realistic it's difficult to present it in a way that's appealing.” While it may seem like a simple explanation, it also explains the reason...[/FONT]
