It's good. I am also loving that you shouldn't just rush into a Bokogoblin camp. I'm starting to get used to the combat, but I am still loving some of the strategies to disrupt a camp.

Basically it's Metal Gear Zelda.

I'm hearing Elder Scrolls: Hyrule... :o

Except it's competently written, well designed, isn't a complete ****ing chore to explore, has solid combat and has a level of overall polish that no Bethesda developed game has ever seen and likely never will...

It's actually more this:

The exploration in Skyrim was just going from point A to point B and registering all the map markers on the way. Other than enjoying the scenery, it wasn't engaging. And if you wanted to go up a hill/mountain, you either had to hop your way up or backtrack to find the road.

BotW provides a lot more interaction with the environment. I like the survivalist nature of it early on as well. Most of my gear has been scavenged and I have less than 400 rupees (300 of which came from one chest in a shrine).

Absolutely, Breath of the Wild is a master class in open world game design and between Breath and The Witcher 3, it's going to be interesting to see how Bethesda responds to these games with their next title. Do they continue to sell us the same gameplay loop they have repackaging since Morrowind or will they actually move forward and give us something different?

There's a bit you have to do involving a Lynel that whooped my ass a dozen times. This is the hardest Zelda game I've ever played. No longer can I just kinda sleepwalk through the combat. It's a definite challenge.

Yeah, the game will definitely kick your ass. I was in a plains area, trying to get a horse when [blackout]an activated guardian walked up. [/blackout] Got out of dodge immediately. Luckily, you can kind of hide in grass. And Moblins are very intimidating.

Just beat the Zora dungeon. Love what they did with the dungeons. They're really smart. No more obvious hook shot style puzzles.

The combat is the most difficult of any Zelda so far. I actually get nervous when I'm fighting more than one monster.

I do think the weapons break a little too easily. I find myself going through multiple weapons in one fight very often--and then quickly running out of viable weapons.

Do you remember which shrine? It's so hard to get rupees in this game! I'm hesitant to sell anything yet, because I don't know what anything could be used for in the future.

Unfortunately not and I'm away from my WiiU the next few weeks.

well, I got my copy of Zelda. but sadly, no luck on the Switch front. :(

guess I'll just hold onto my copy and hope I can find a Switch during the return period.

Grew tired of the vegan life style. Started to hunt anything that moves.

I thought it might not be a good idea to kill the cranes. But nope, double drumsticks...

Haven't been able to get a squirrel or fox yet.

I have not had time to play the switch at all because of adult life but I have a question when it comes to BOTW and the talk about its FPS. So when playing on TV the game is 900p and 720 when not on TV and from what I have heard runs better not on TV. So I am wondering what if you set the switch to 720 instead of 1080p and played it at 720p on the TV. Would it then run better at 720p on TV? I also have to say I am surprised that Zelda has any sort of FPS issues with it being a Nintendo game and all and with Nintendo normally never having issues like this.

I've had little FPS issues at all. But I will admit I downloaded the day one patch.

As for the game itself, it's just amazing.

Yeah I have heard it is amazing but just about ever Zelda game is amazing but from previews and trailers and what people and critics are saying it looks like this could be the best Zelda yet. I cant wait in till I finally have time to play it. But I was wondering about the FPS thing because digital foundry did a video comparing switch and wii u versions and also a comparison of how it does on the switch on tv vs handheld and it sounds like on the switch tv it drops to 20 FPS at time and on wii u to but on handheld on switch it stays at 30 FPS. On handheld mode it is at 720p were tv 900p and wii u 720. There has been some thought that the chip in the switch may handle 720p better and that may be why it has issues with tv and 900p and maybe wii u was slightly to weak to be able to have 30FPS were switch can handle 30FPS but only at 720 and that maybe 900p is just a little to much for the chip to handle or something. So I think it would be interesting to see if you play on 720p tv instead of the normal 900 to see if that would change how well it runs.

it was mentioned in both the Video Reviews of both epn.tv with victor Lucas and ben silivermen and the easy allies (formerly the game trailers reviewers) you have to maintain the weapons. other wise they break well till you find new better one but you have maintain those ones too. other wise snap.

Here's what new

Now that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is out for both the Wii U and the Switch, more comparisons have been made between the two versions, including the difference of load times.

In a video by YouTube user Master0fHyrule, we get a look at how fast the load times are on the two versions. From the footage, it appears that the Switch is a bit faster at loading the game and starting the quest, while the Wii U is slightly faster when it comes to entering Shrines and continuing on after a death.

Additionally, Digital Foundry has shared a new video comparing the frame rate of Breath of the Wild on both consoles. You can check out the loading times and frame rate for yourself in the following videos.

There is no direct way to repair your weapons. Some folks are saying if you have an Octorock suck up your items, once you kill it, you'll get them back new, but I have yet to try it.

Coming from someone who had become incredibly jaded toward this franchise and absolutely HATED Skyward Sword, this game is closer to the original Zelda in spirit than any other Zelda that has come before it. It's as significant a change to this series as Ocarina of Time was. Believe the ****ing hype. It's that good.

Yeah, once you get out of the Plateau, you can do pretty much whatever you want, whenever you want. And even the Plateau is just so much better than the starting villages you got in OoT and later.

The first blood moon freaked me out, man. Also curious at just how long I have to get to a meteor.

Finally had a revelation on how to kill the damn Guardians. Taking one of those down feels like such an accomplishment.

Also, the score to this game is amazeballs. I got the special edition that came with it on CD and it's been playing a lot around my house.

I realized how to kill them when I went to see Logan. They showed a trailer of the Switch with Zelda gameplay and you actually see Link doing what he does to destroy a Guardian and I was like "really? A pre-trailer commercial at the theater taught me how to deal with those things..."

Good thing I had my Switch. At the theater. During the movie.

So...anyone else see the giant ass green electric dragon just flying around the forested area of Hyrule?
