Finished the game at around 60 hours. Easily the second best game of this console generation. My final thoughts:

Game needs more substantial side content outside of the shrines. The side quests felt like standard MMO esque padding. In the sequel, we need more Terry Town and less of go collect X amount of random **** for people. I liked how short the dungeons were personally, the game just needed more of them. I also liked that when I was finally bored with it, I had the freedom to make a run for the end at my leisure. It's a solid 8.5 out of 10 for me due to minor wii gimmicks and the side quests outside of the shrine quests mostly being trash.

I'd love to see them enable the Wii U pad via DLC. I'm afraid thought that would make the game better than it is on the Switch.

What would game pad functionality add aside from more gimmicks?

I'd like the map on the pad at all times. With the touchscreen enabling transport for fast travel to markers

Which is why they took it out. I mean, it clearly is the ideal way to manage inventory.

What is present on the gamepad during gameplay?

Click to play on the pad :/

Wow! They really did gimp it. I thought the whole point of the Sheikah Slate mechanic was for it to be utilized by the gamepad. If Nintendo truly wanted to prop up the Switch version, they shouldn't have gone to such idiotic measures to do so. They should have had a somewhat graphically superior game versus robbing intriguing features for the older system.

It was. Then they pushed the game to the Switch. That's why it was delayed.

Did Nintendo pull anything like this with Twilight Princess? I don't own the Gamecube version, only the Wii.

It's a bummer that they removed the functionality and their reasons for doing so are dubious, but even if they had added that functionality back in, I don't see how that's magically going to make the Wii U version superior. I found the menu stuff on the pad in WW HD to be rather tedious.

Doubt it. Wii was the one that offered the enhanced motion with the wii-mote.

It just would've offered something else with map availability etc. Plus who knows what else they would've come up with for the Wii U. Switch the whole system goes into the dock, so there's no second screen even available.

Should I buy this game for Wii as a disc or a digital download? Btw, I'm afraid that my HD won't be able to support a full download since I brought many games on eShop.

Do you mean breath of the wild? cause I'm sure it's not on the Wii

ok here's the latest from what's now yesterday every one .

A fine coat of wax for an already great game.

Nintendo has patched The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in their latest update for both the Wii U and Switch. Both games get an upgrade to their framerate performance.
The update, clocking in at 170mb, has a very short description from Nintendo, only mentioning that it's a "more pleasant gaming experience".
The exact changes are unknown, but a number of people have mentioned fewer framerate drops in handheld mode and while docked, it seems ever consistent. A video has emerged on YouTube thanks to user ElAnalistaDeBits comparing the performance between 1.1.0 and 1.1.1:

I'm still forgetting that there's a button to jump for Link. :funny: I'm so used to him auto-jumping when running off a ledge that I died because of it. :O

The Wii version didn't have an option for traditional controls I don't think. So...no? They were two distinctly different experiences because of that.

I got distracted by the [blackout]Blood Moon[/blackout] that a Guardian snuck up on me and attacked me. I just got done climbing the mountainside too. :funny: This game is fun and too engrossing at times cause I swear it was only 8:00 at night only for it to be 10:30 when I checked again.

That happens all the time. I normally have an objective when I start, and then I look, and 4hrs have gone by, and I never even got to what I originally planned. I think it's the most engrossing game I've ever played.

It just clicked for me that Link is right handed in the game. Wonder why. It's not like the Wii version where they did it for gameplay reasons.

Apparently the emulation community is not fond of Cemu. I'm not sure why, but the creators of Dolphin are one of its biggest naysayers.

Cemu is still a young project. Though, its development has been fast-tracked thanks to donations. Dolphin has been on the scene for a dozen years. Besides, they're two different communities (Cemu for Wii U and Dolphin for GC/Wii) so I wouldn't put much attention to Dolphin devs not supporting/liking Cemu. Maybe they're a bit jealous... :yay:
