I'm more thrilled about Cano winning. Jeter was meh.

He was significantly worse than meh, but knowing you, I'll take it.

If "meh" means "one of the worst at his position" then yes, Jeter is "meh"

Baseball thinks he's a Gold Glove winner...Obviously, they disagree with all of you. So 'meh' for them is GREATNESS

Yes, because clearly Baseball has always demonstrated that they know what they're doing when it comes to awards, particularly Gold Gloves (*COUGHRAFAELPALMEIROCOUGH).

Only 2 kinds of people vote for Jeter:
1) Idiots
2) People who don't know who Elvis Andrus is

What's the point of having a gold glove award if they don't bother to vote objectively.

No, I along with many even on the MLB Network are all good with Tex and Cano. Especially Cano.

Nope. Neither was the most deserving candidate. They won because of their offense, their reputations, and because they're Yankees. But there were clearly better defensive players at both positions.

The MLB Network, you say? That changes everything :whatever:

You are a huge Yankees hater. You despise everything Yankees...I don't think you objectively have reasons to hate these picks. Its all because you just don't like them. There are other candidates for the 2nd base and 1st base that can be argued but Cano had great instinct and great range at 2nd base. Tex makes difficult plays easy...The amount runs he saved at 1B kept Yankees in games.

These awards are usually meaningless, but they gave it to them.

Now I'll hope for a Cano AL MVP! Doubt that happens though

Its debatable and close.

Should Longoria have won (14 errors! But great in double plays)? How about your boy Hunter not winning? Happy with that?

Except for the statistics that contradict the picks.

It's neither.

Errors are ********. First, players who have a lot of opportunities will make more errors. A middle infielder on a pitching staff with groundball pitchers will have more opportunities and make more errors than an infielder on a flyball pitching staff. Second, an error is determined by a scorer who is a human; they make mistakes.

Compare them for me...Who should have been the definitive winner at these positions? Why?

Forget Jeter...I can see that Overbay can have the upperhand over Tex because he had a UZR in the negatives along with everyone at 1b except Barton and Overbay.

Cano has a -0.6 UZR and -0.9 UZR/150. Basically, he's average.

Orlando Hudson and Mark Ellis both had UZRs over 9.8 and UZR/150 over 12. Hudson had the worst of the two (by less than 1 point) but I included him since he played more innings.

Mark Teixera had a -2.9 UZR and -2.4 UZR/150. Daric Barton 12.1 UZR and 14.2 UZR/150.

Only reason Jeter, Teixeira, and Cano won was because of name recognition.
