Glad to see (slowly but surely) that Guardians is still getting votes

It's funny When X-Men and Cap were like 20 Guardians were 10 and when X-Men/Cap went up to around 40 Guardians were around 20.

When Guardians hits 30 those two will probably be 60 always half the vote.

Surprising since Guardians got more praise than Cap

Guardians was the most fun CBM of the year
But Cap was the best CBM of the year

it's subtle I suppose, but explains it accurately
Cap had the performances, the MCU-changing plot, the heaps of tension, and the hard hitting action
while GOTG had the heart, the zaniness, the adventure, and the humor

It's played film festivals and should be available on whatever VOD platform you prefer. I wouldn't be camping outside a movie theater, because it probably won't be showing there.

However, man...they have FAILED this concept. There is NO promotion for this movie and they are just throwing it out there without bothering to tell anyone. They aren't even bothering to post on Facebook. It's an embarrassing failure by the company. How do you spend that much time and money on a movie and then fail to even post on Facebook about it?

I'll add that it isn't a "good" movie. I think the idea is AWESOME. I can't reveal too much without literally revealing too much...but the concept is cool. Unfortunately, I think maybe the script needed a fresh set of eyes (the guy who wrote the comic wrote the script) to maybe make it flow better. The effects look low budget (which they are, I guess), but that has never been an issue for me. Mostly, it's a "this idea could have been SO cool, but kind of wasn't" feeling from me.

I haven't voted yet. Have to officially watch Transformers and TMNT but I really doubt I'll be voting for either of those.

Thats how I see it as well, with TWS just behind those 2, then a big gap to all of the rest. I really dont think GOTG has got the credit it deserves on this poll. I thought all 3 would neck and neck rather than just DOFP and TWS.

Saw GOTG again last night, TWS and DoFP this morning and my vote still goes to GOTG. Its just such a refreshingly fun film with probably more heart than most CBMs. TWS is great but things like dialogue bring it down and DoFP is great as well but never reaches the epic heights that it should with such a concept and cast of characters.

^While DOFP is my favourite at the moment, I do think GOTG could overtake it once I watch both of them a few more times. I also thought that about TWS but after a couple of re-watches the movie doesnt get better for me.

But GOTG and DOFP both did during 2nd viewings, so it will be interesting to see which one holds up more once they both hit BD.

I can't wait for GotG in December. Meanwhile I have TWS on my iPad and sometimes I just start watching the freighter scene, his escape from Shield and the ending. I think with me, I like Captain America. Guardians are new but you end up caring about those characters as well through it. However, with Cap they had more of lead in with TFA and Avengers. I'm more invested with Cap's mythos.

^Well that was possibly a factor in me enjoying DOFP and GOTG more, I am certainly no stranger to Cap's mythos and like him as a character after having read a few crossover events with him strongly involved, Civil War being the most recent one, I am a big fan of X-Men and since Annihilation came out have been a huge fan of marvel cosmic in general, so both of those really hit home with me. But, I just found them to be better movies overall.

Saying that though, TDK is the best CBM ever to me and yet Batman wouldnt even make my top ten super-heroes, so I dont think being a fan matters as much as people make out.

I grew up on X-Men, the comics and the cartoon. However, I got a little tired of Wolverines 1 through 6 1/2. Hopefully Apocalypse will focus on the originals.

DOFP focus more on FC big 3 especilly Xavier than on Wolverine.

I understand why they used Wolverine. The fact that Shadowcat would probably not even been born yet, but I think Singer or some producer acknowledged about Wolverine's popularity and familiarity with the audience. It makes sense.

My high marks for DoFP are probably because they didn't focus on Wolverine as much but he does play a significant role still.

Just watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier last night. Both the parts with old Peggy and Steve and the very end of the Insight Helicarriers fight where Cap says "I'm with you until the end of the line" are moments that truly hit me on an emotional level. This movie is just wonderful.

Agreed. The whole "your my mission" scene is excellent. Every line there sticks, has impact and emotion. Very well done.

Felt bad for Peggy as well. Love how they didn't over sell Cap's reaction there. Evans is solid throughout.

I actually felt the Peggy scene should have been done better but the "I'm with you til the end of the line" scene at the end was excellent even though some think it's cheesy.

I only got tired of Wolverine in X3 and Origins, but sitting out FC and then having a really good solo movie in The Wolverine got me in the mood for him again, and in DOFP he was utilised greatly for the most part, I just wish we would have gotten to see him taken on a Sentinel with his adamantium claws, that was my only real problem with the movie.

I agree about the Peggy part, that really hit home, but the line at the end doesnt do much for me, I think them botching Steve and Bucky's friendship in the 1st movie just didnt help things there. The Russo's did the best they could though.

In all honesty? Possibly, if FC came out now instead of 2011 I think it would do better, Fassbender, Lawrence and McAvoy and to a lesser degree Houly have all become more popular and well know since then.

The real question for is WILL they do an X-Men movie without Wolverine? I doubt it in the near future, but after Apocalypse? Who knows.
