Well we have had less CBMs this year as opposed to last year.

But as far as I can tell, these are it.

1. Kingsman: The Secret Service
2. Avengers: Age of Ultron
3. Ant-Man
4. Fantastic Four

A few people have already. There are a few showings tomorrow near me.

Haven't watched Kingsman (never read the comic). Was kind of lukewarm on Age of Ultron (though there is a lot I like about that film, as well as a lot of stuff I dislike). Ant-Man was fantastic and a real surprise for me. And not even going to bother watching Fantastic 4 after all the critical savaging it's been getting now.

So as it stands:

1) Ant-Man
2) Avengers Age of Ultron
3) Kingsman The Secret Service
4) Fantastic 4

Avengers was the best for me. But overall movies were pretty weak this year. Unlike the next.

Haven't seen F4 yet, but judging by the reviews, it sounds like a turd. Out of the other three, I'd rank them like this. (WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD).

1. Avengers: AOU - Lots of fun, action packed, and I honestly felt like the story flowed better than the previous Avengers. Some people didn't care for Ultron, but I thought he was a great villain. And the Vision was the bomb. Overall, loved the film.

2. Kingsman - This one probably would have been my top choice, but that whole Obama/not Obama head exploding thing just bothered me. I read Vaughn's reasoning for it, and perhaps as a Brit, he doesn't quite comprehend how that scene could be read here in the States. What I mean is, I can almost guarantee that theaters full of teabagger dipsh**s in rednecky parts of America erupted with cheers during that scene. I think he meant the scene as nothing more than a joke, but I can see all of the "DURR OBUMMER AINT MUH PRESIDENT" types thinking he was throwing them a bone.

3. Ant-Man - This was a solid film, and most of the performances were good. Yet something here just seemed missing to me. It's hard to say what it is. It just felt like Marvel was phoning it in a bit here. The villain plot almost felt nonexistent here, especially when they threw Hydra in at the end. The whole time, Hank is like "PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE!" and it's not really clear why he feels that way, and then it's like DUH HYDRA at the end. I don't know. It was a good movie, but it feels more forgettable than what Marvel typically puts out (still better than Thor 2 of course).

Kingsman for sure. The rest are pretty much eh to me.

Kingsman is the only film on this list that feels remarkable. Overall, this year wasn't as disappointing as 2013, but nowhere near as memorable as 2014 when it comes to CBM's.

Kingsman all the way, considering it was a great piss-take on the James Bond genre ( and actually killed off important characters ). Funny and smart, another gem from the vastly underrated Matthew Vaughn.

Age of Ultron was entertaining, but lacked a sense of real danger. I thought it had some great moments but was let down by the 3rd Act.

Ant Man is okay, but pretty standard superhero fare.

haven't seen FF, so I'm guessing on this one, but I'm not enthralled by the little bits I've seen (particularly Dr Doom).

If I see FF and change my mind, I'll post it, promise !

Cheers.

I've only seen Ant Man and Avengers, and don't plan on seeing the other two. (maybe F4 from redbox).
And Age of Ultron was my favorite by just a hair. I'm genuinely surprised that Ant-man came so close to almost being my favorite superhero movie of the summer. I loved it.

I haven't seen Fantastic Four, nor plan to, but given the reviews and plot spoilers I feel confident that it won't be #1 anyways.

I voted for Ant-Man, which really would have shocked the hell out of me in January.

Antman was my favorite comic book film of the year. Had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the characters.

AOU was good, but it was a bit too cluttered, and unfocused.

I did not see Kingsmen, and I do not plan on watching F4.

Age of Ultron is the only one I've seen so far, and it's fun, has a considerable amount of issues, but fun.

Based on reception I'm seeing so far, wait for it to be displayed on cable.

I'll watch Kingsman, AOU and Ant-Man again on blu-ray before I make my decision.

Currently I'd say AoU

haven't seen Kingsman yet but hope to soon
and I don't need to see FF to know it'll be terrible

1. Kingsman: The Secret Service. - And it's not even close since this was a fun, witty, smart, original and well executed movie all around. In short, everything the other three were not.

2. Ant-Man - Well done but cookie cutter and very forgettable. I cannot deny it isn't passingly amusing. But it is also something I have absolutely no interest in ever seeing again.

3. Avengers: Age of Ultron - A complete mess. But at least I enjoyed the non-villain characters, which leads to in comparison...

4. Fantastic Four - It actually starts so well. And then around the halfway mark (after they get their powers) it takes a swan dive into...I don't know what I was watching by the end. But it is not good.

Age of Ultron gets my vote. It was actually a close call between this and Ant-Man. Both movies are so different, yet are almost equally enjoyable for me. I really liked the acting and the cinematography in both films. But AOU got my vote simply because all the scenes in which all the Avengers are working as a team are just too awesome and priceless to overlook. Whether in the opening when the Avengers are attacking the Hydra base, or in the climax where all the heroes are fighting Ultron's robots together, these scenes rock. They look great, and they're like a comic book fan's dream come true. Just watching the heroes in these scenes alone was more than worth the price of admission.

Voted Ant-Man, but Kingsman was fantastic. One of the most enjoyable films I've seen in a long while.

Yeah, the reviews are not great. To be honest, I had my doubts. I mean monkeying around with the Classic FF look/origin was always going to be high risk - but apparently it's also put together really badly.

Yeah, might wait until it's a weekly $ 2 rental at the DVD store.

To be honest, I kind of enjoyed the previous FF films, as they were kind of goofy (like the FF). Although I hated their version of Dr Doom, sad to see Dr Doom done badly....again !

I agree, I enjoy the two previous FF films despite their flaws. Imperfect as they are, they still have fun elements like a lot of Chris Evans' and Michael Chiklis' scenes. Even Doom has his moments. From what I can tell, I think that, among numerous other issues, the filmmakers behind the new movie just didn't add that crucial element of fun to the FF. And when you forget to make it fun, things usually go downhill from there.

Bleh, what a weak year. Kingsman wins easily. Ant-Man was the goods too though. AoU gets worse and worse for me as time goes on.
