Official Cable Post Messiah Complex Thread!

First of all let me talk about the events that lead up to the Messiah Complex arc. Umm can you say grrrrrrreat.

Mystique becomes an X man. Apocalypse gives Sunfire back his legs and makes him into a horseman. Gambit defects to become Death. Rogue is given her own squad. A friggin alien mind eating weapon is unleashed upon the Earth. The Children of the Vault of friggin amazing.

Then you have the Messiah complex itself. Uber Ridic.

Cable is currently 9 books deep and the best is surely yet to come, although what we've been getting is really good stuff too. Bishop is a dick. I cant put it any other way. However if youve read Messiah Complex atleast you kind of understand why he is the being such a complete *****e.

I mean c'mon the dude unleashed nuclear chain reactions that made humans splice their DNA with cockroaches. WTF. The friggin President is half cockroach now??? Sam Guthrie, you were a good man sorry to see you fall. But he was whipping Bishop till he got cocky. The Messiah Baby is going to be the best soldier ever. Cable is training her already. Hell she's already blowing cats up, she isnt scared of anything at all.

Anyone want to guess what her power is? It hasnt been revealed yet.

Anyone else feeling this saga in the life of Nathan Summers aka X-Man aka Cable?

Anyway, I have a feeling Messiah will have multiple powers. I think one of her powers will involve the ability to fiddle with the powers of other mutants, which would explain why there's still a "mutant problem" about 80 years in the future, just before the Summers Rebellion Layla and Ruby start. It would also explain why Rogue's powers went through a "tabula rasa" instead of killing her. She probably also has some sort of teleportation ability, which is why she gets to high places without aid, and how she'll cause the 8-Minute War that kills millions of people.

Good point about the teleportation. I didnt even think of that. It would be a bit easier to guess if her parents were mutants too. Although not much.

I wonder what the last weapon is. Bishop needs to be killed he is just in a whole other world right now.

Looked to me like Phoenix force type powerset from the teaser images they've thrown in with the phoenix reflected in her eyes and such.

So probably high order telekinetic/telepathic with some other energy manipulation type stuff.

Another way they could go with it is more of a direct Phoenix type power with some sort of life force manipulation.

I assumed the TK/telepathy thing was simply a Jean & Rachel thing, not necessarily how the Phoenix's power manifests. There was a Shi'ar man named Rook'shir who was a host of the Phoenix, but his powers apparently manifested in the form of a sword that projects energy.

Seems to me the phoenix force is some sort of VERY high order energy manipulation no matter where it ends up. If you look at Life as another form of energy than I guess it makes sense.

You may be right about the teke/tp being Grey family exclusive.
