Not me. And screw Frank Miller. Every book he writes has a stupid noir-narration and it gets annoying after a while. I like Sin City a lot and I liked the Dark Night Returns... After that though, I'm all Miller-ed out.

how many fans would agree w/ me, if I were to say ALL THE DD YOU NEED CAN BE FOUND IN:

born again

guardian devil

THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR # 1-5
or
some version of his origin

and... a few key issues from THE BENDIS RUN

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Dude. Calm down.

someone doesn't like Frank Miller!

Did you miss the part where I said I like Sin City and DNR?

Bendis and Maleev's run is a classic

I recently picked up DD Visionaries Vol.1 and 2 as well as the Companion Omnibus (the one with Born Again and Man Without Fear) all for a measly 50 bucks.Bit of an impulse buy,but had to at that price.

I'd disagree with you. While these are some of the better DD stories, you have to include:

ALL of Bendis & Maleev's run
Brubaker & Lark's current run

+ The Ann Nocenti era was pretty good too (DD vol.1 236-291)

otherwise all you have is an origin story and the Miller parts of it - and DD has done so much more than that since 1964

Yeah, I've actually started rereading that run over the last week or so and it's just as amazing as the first time around. Say what you want about Bendis Avengers work, but this run will go down as one of the best runs on any book.

I've been trying to preach to people the greatness of the Nocenti run, to no avail.

I'm glad someone else agrees with me. It had Typhoid, some interesting political and legal morality question at the heart of their stories. I found it very interesting to say the least.

What do you guys think of this new Lady Bullseye idea?

I told myself I would cease Daredevil after this Big Ben Donovan arc, which I liked, but now I'm asking myself, check it out? Let it go, like you said you were going to? I don't know....

I'm just not excited to read DD like I used to be. It usually ends up near the bottom of the pile, ya know? The thing is that I usually like it, though.

What to do, WHAT TO DO??

I really enjoy Brubaker's work on Daredevil. It's second only to his Cap work. While I've grown weary of female versions of villains I think Brubaker will deliver.Keep it.

Brubaker's never been one for gimmicks (or, more properly, he takes what in the hands of other writers would seem like a gimmick and makes people love it).

so after reading the first part of the Lady Bullseye arc... does everyone like it? My wife thinks Matt is a dog... I should have seen this coming though.

I liked the issue. Lady Bullseye has a strange non-relationship with Bullseye. Interesting at least

who was the "old man" lady bullseye was referring to when talking about Logan,Iron Fist and Tarantula?

I really enjoyed Zeb Wells' "Battlin' Jack Murdock" mini from earlier this year.
I consider that essential DD at this point.

Battlin' Jack Murdock was awesome. I initially picked it up solely for the art, but I was surprised to find a really touching, well executed story in it, too.

I was skeptical until I read the issue. Now I'm interested to see what they do with it.

I said the exact same thing, but the quality hasn't dropped one bit. I'm really looking forward to the next issue.

It's an excellent book. At some point, they should lighten the tone a little, and let Matt enjoy life for awhile. I also would prefer to see Matt go back to having the secret identity. I can live with a few people knowing, but this is the one aspect that's really not working for me.

I find the "open secret" angle fairly interesting.

So where do you think this whole thing with Dakota is heading?

I can see Dakota becoming the new love of his life. Milla never really understood who or what he was. She was and is a liability to him, if he's going to continue on as DD. Dakota understands and accepts it without hesitation. And she obviously can take care of herself when the going gets rough.

Personally, I love how they have used Milla, but they might have reached a point where there's not a whole lot more that they can do with her. She's kind of served her purpose. It might be time for something new.

[BLACKOUT]The hook-up caught me a little off guard. Right now, it's making Matt look kind of like a scumbag. I've always seen DD as one of Marvel's most loyal and trustworthy heroes. I'll be looking for some kind of reasonable explanation (although, I have no clue what that might be) as to why he would do this![/BLACKOUT]

The thing with Milla was that it was very rushed, Bendis never really fleshed out their relationship. It was like they met, and bam! a few issues later they got married. I really don't care for Milla like i do Dakota, cause she's been around a long time.

the 12 issue long Mr Fear arc should have been much shorter, and Milla was so goddamn annoying

the Azaceta issue along with the Rucka issues really brought this book back for me

LB part 1 was a good read as well,so the "old man" she was referring to was Stick?

The Punisher is probaby there for the same reason he's always there, he let himself get caught so he could kill someone who was running the show from the "safety" of Prison, start a riot, and escape, like he used to do almost every f**king week back in Punisher vol. 2...seriously, you'd think they'd just stop sending him there after a while :o

This is based on the assumption that the people putting him there weren't 100% in favor of him doing just that.

The Dakota thing definitely caught me off guard but as Matt said it didn't feel as wrong as it should have because with Milla he was looking for something he just can't have...a normal marriage. He will always be Daredevil.I mean come on from Elektra and Black Widow to Milla?Matt should have known it never work and should have never brought Milla's hopes up.
