Aww...I really need to go pick up my comics this week. I think I've gone 2 weeks without picking up my comics :(

I'm in withdrawal!

Wow, Defalco is revealing quite a few things about the future of Reilly. Getting me VERY excited, my god!

If the series sells wellenough Ben could get his own monthly title.

In the 616 universe!

But the best bit of the interview was when a poster asked Howard Mackie what he's been doing since it's been so long since he wrote comics and Mackie said "Who says I haven't been writing comics? A pseudonym is a wonderful thing."

I also questioned the comment "some of it is what if?, some of it will be in continuity"...

Makes me think that this will be the second genie that JQ mentioned a while back, possibly being the return of Ben Reilly.

:yay:

Well, that is certainly some very good news. I could go for a Ben Reilly monthly title. I wonder if it would be current continuity or if they would be stories from before he died in the original clone saga.

I think the best scenario would be a current continuity based story where Ben is living on the West Coast...

:yay:

Yeah, but I would wonder how they could explain him being back alive again.

I would buy it either way. A series like The Lost Years would be just as good to me as well.

omg I'm so there. Rather its back up stories or current continuity. Personally I would rather have it in current continuity. I'd love to see Scarlet Spider giving Osborn and his Avengers all kinds of hell on a regular basis.

Hmmm, what would be real interesting is if Ben's solo title ends up selling more than Peter's....

I'd most definately buy it. But I still don't want to touch Spider-Man since OMD.

I've wanted this for a long time. So now that it's finally happening.... why do I feel a bit uneasy about it? I guess it's because Ben Reilly was frozen in time. But now they can (and probably "will") do anything with him. Some may be good, but some may be a bastardization of his character.

For what it's worth, I hope an original clone-head writer gets to be the writer of his solo series. In particular, Todd Dezago. He had a lot of passion for the character and would do right by him. 'Ringo would be great as the artist, but sadly, he's passed on, so Todd Nauck would be good because he's got that same light style that can still be serious when the time calls for it. If they can't get Dezago, then Christos Gage did a pretty good job on his Ben Reilly story earlier this year.

Reilly will come back married to MJ....lol

It's possible...

In these tough economic times, a Spider-Man book selling once a month might be more appealing than a Spdier-Man book selling three times a month...

I guess we'll have to wait'n see...

:yay:

Would Ben be considered a mutant since he was "born" with his powers?
