Also, the Techno-Mancers story line with Dr. Strange, Ben's soul was givin to Pete.

ooooooooo whts tht never heard of tht

If I remember correctly, that storyline was in a christmas special. Or was it an annual?!

And there was this small plot where Desiree Wintrop wanted to speak to Peter, he thought she knew his identity, but later she reveals she just had feelings for Ben and felt connected to him. Which could be caused by some minor telepathic powers. And so she knew Peter meant alot to Ben.

It was a 3-parter Sensational arc. Interesting story... when I was a young'un in the late 90's I bugged Dezago through e-mail with a bunch of questions and one of the things I asked him was if that was meant to be Ben's soul at the end that flies into him. He said yes, it was, and he would have made that part clearer except Marvel editorial told him not to. They wanted it to be left ambigious, in case they wanted to bring Ben back one day.

Where is that picture from? Was that concept art for the Ultimate clone saga? The ben looks very Bagleyish and he's wearing Spider-Woman's costume :wow:

Yeah, I liked Ultimate Spider-Woman's costume, thought it would make a perfect Scarlet Spider outfit, so it inspired me to draw this and I gave it the title "back in scarlet".
So nothing official, just made by me.

And Ben's head is a scan from Amazing Spider-Man, so yes, it's Bagley.

Nice job. I could really see that working as a costume for Ben.

Here's a challenge and I dare anyone to take me up on it.... ;-)

A list of all the postmortem references Ben has had in the Spider-Books since 'Revelations.'

Anything ranging from a fleeting mention to a caption (like the latest Sensational) to Peter giving him a homage like taking up his ID in Friendly. The big and the small. It doesn't have to be Pete doing the referencing either. Jimmy-6, Mary Jane, Norman Osborn and others have all brought him up I believe. Clone jokes or references to that "clone thing" don't count. They have to be about Ben.

If we all bring our own recollections to the table we can probably come up with a pretty solid list.

hahahaha dude! i've already mostly done this on this thread PAGES and AGES ago....check it out. I have SCANS of every reference since his death (except maybe for a few amazing references i forgot to put up...not sure  ).

Wow...that's one of my favorite all-time stories....it's good to know that it actually was Dezago's intention. awesome!

shameless bump.....
this deserves to stay on the front page....

just so i dont get in trouble for doing so i'll start (restart) a conversation....

Initive #7:
Of the 3 Scarlets, which one gets unmasked?
Also, who do you think it could be?

this just popped in my head - Ken Ellis - O_O
that would be funny as heck, also ironic,
Or mabey Joe Wade.....

wuld be cool (kinda) if it was joe wade and slott is a mega continuity buff so you never know............. when the hell is the issue out though???

heh heres a thought, mebe one is kaine!!!!! :O now that would come completely from left field

joe wade....that never actually entered my mind...although, who cares?

and instead of kaine i have a feeling it's could be a brainwashed spidercide. remember, the feds took spidercide in as he never actually "died". Initiative 7 is supposedly the last appearance of spidey before one more day and if omd is a "reboot" then this all might not matter. how sad....

edit: how rediculous would it be if the three scarlets were Ben, Kaine, and Spidercide? it'd never happen but dayuuum

I have a feeling that the three guys in the Scarlet Spider suits are just three regular guys in Scarlet Spider suits, heh.

We aren't going to ever see Scarlet Spider, Kaine, or Spidercide again. If it's the Clone Saga, it must be ignored. Marvel's rules, not mine. If it were up to me Ben Reilly would still be the one true Spider-Man and Peter Parker/MJ/Baby May would have lived happily ever after.

But blame the overbearing "I think I know everything about comics" Spider-Man fans for not having that. :oldrazz: :oldrazz:

Well I hope someday Spidey and the Scarlet Spiders will fight, it may be cool.

By the way some time ago, I've read an issue of ASM, it's where Peter asks to Ben to be baby May's godfather. I have to say that when I've read this scene, that they really should haven't killed Ben because there was a great chemistry between Ben and Peter.

Well...Norman came back, Bucky came back, Aunt May came back (:cmad:), Jason Todd came back, and even Uncle Ben came back. Bringing those characters back put both companies under a lot more heat than a Ben Reilly return would. Even clone saga haters would have to be intrigued and curious enough to purchase the issues just to see what would happen. We probably won't ever see Spidercide again because he represents everything that was wrong about the clone saga but I wouldn't say that it's out of the question to see Reilly or Kaine back at some point. Even JQ acknowledges that a Reilly return would "sell like crazy" and that it would have to be done right. Also there's been at least one clone saga reference every two months for the last year or so (this month it's an issue of Sensational, i believe). Knowing Marvel, they've consciously ignored the Clone Saga for SOOOO LOOOONG that the fact that they're bringing it up so often must also be a conscious decision.

Besides, Marvel's in the business of making money and not pleasing fanboys (unless those two things happen to cross paths :cwink:). A Reilly return is one instance where it would. This thread (I don't see any "Official Winter Soldier Threads" anywhere on the hype) and countless clone-saga devoted sites are a testament to that.

Word up, homie (or clomie)! Ben Reilly aint dead. He's just resting like 2pac.

as much as i liked ben during the clone saga its gonna be pretty hard to bring him back. I know dead doesn't usually mean dead in the 616. He got impaled, thrown off a building, then turned to dust. Who knows though if they can bring him back while making a good story out of it im all for that.

been said 1,000,000 times but if he turned to dust he wasn't a perfect clone. and ben was a perfect clone

I'm making a Youtube tribute of 'Revelations.' I'm currently painstakingly photographing panels from the TPB. I'm about halfway through, just finishing Sensational. Sometimes I have to take 2 or 3 pics just to get it looking right.

I'm going to have a sad slow song accompany it. I have some songs in mind, but if anyone has a suggestion I'm always open to that too. I'll put the link up here when it's done (hopefully by the end of the week).
