It's any day now. Like I said in the other threads I'm betting on tomorrow night or Thur morning. Wed night via Variety or HReporter so they have something more to talk about during the conference.

What a great year this has been for comic book movies, huh?

First we get Ghost Rider (hey, it was better than nothing, right?... right?) then the awesome 300, now Iron Man's started filming this month, The Dark Knight starts next month, a month later Spider-Man 3 comes out, a month after that Fantastic Four: ROTSS is released, then after that The Incredible Hulk begins shooting. It's nice because there's always something to talk about.

^ It's not gonna matter who get's the role of banner. THere's going to be a group of complainers anyways. If Bana is rehired a group of people will whine and moan and the whiners are the most vocal. If it's Brody the nose jokes will never end, if it's Modine they'll say something else. I want to see a different Hiulk film than the first. I loved the first but it's already been made. We've seen it. Show us a different take now.

The difference is that Ang Lee tried and failed (no disrespect to 2003 hulk fans) and has moved on. This movie is going to be something totally different. So yes, I too would like to see them do something new and fresh with it. Sam Raimi isn't done with Spider-Man yet (though he might be after the upcoming movie) but several years down the line after Raimi's Spider-Man is old news it would be perfectly fine for someone to try a different take on it.

I think more people would beg Raimi to stay on the franchise for another 20 or so years.

^ I agree Antonello more people probably want him to stay...but only because they're comfortable with him and they're afraid a change might downgrade the franchise. I disagree with that. If Raimi stays I'm fine with it of course because he's done so well but I really want to see something different out of Spidey from top to bottom a different directors style.

I didn't think that Cameron's scriptment was that good. I'm happier with Raimi's take.

I can't understand for which reason if they takes Bana and respects references to the first movie(just a little, the right) they can't make a totally different kind of movie...

i agree with you, a better example would be T1 and T2, T1 was more darker and more story orientated while T2 was just fun with still a great story. I've always thought they should use T2 as an example for Hulk 2 (TIH) and do what they did.

The probably with that is, when continuing on from existing material, whether the tone is different or not, there's still going to be restrictions on what you can and can't do*. Whereas starting fresh enables you to have complete freedom with the material. Now that's not to say that they couldn't start fresh and still use Bana, hell, he did a decent enough job in the first movie, but I would rather someone new, because although he was decent, his performance wasn't anything amazing or particularly memorable. I like the idea of starting fresh with a new face.


*Think about Batman Begins, for example, if it was a continuation or even prequel of the original series Nolan would have to adhere to the limitations set by the previous films: Joker would have to be the Waynes' killer, as well as the general origin for the characters would have to be the same, he wouldn't be able to use some of the characters that were supposed to have died, in fact pretty much everything about the movie would be different

Begins is a complete reebot of the series coming after almost 20 years from the first... it's a little different.
Now, with TIH, they said that is a sequel anyway... so I think that they had to continues on the tracked way...

From what I've come to understand, this is supposed to be a separate Hulk movie that simply won't be an origin story, or clash with Lee's Hulk in any significant way, so that it CAN be interpreted as a sequel, but is really it's own thing.
