Everytime I watch King of the Hill or Sin City my heart breaks for her. And I'm only just now getting to the point of watching a Heath Ledger movie without being reminded he died after TDK filming.

She would have been a perfect Harley.

Margot Robbie was fantastic. But let's just face it... Brittany Murphy was born to play the role. She's actually an American and could nail the accent in her sleep. There were shades of Harley in just about every role she ever played.

Such a shame what happened.

I also think that Phillip Seymour-Hoffman was the absolute perfect choice to portray a Nolanverse Penguin.... remember those pre-TDK days when the Penguin rumors were circulating? Everyone thought that Cobblepot was going to show up in TDK as an arms dealer for the mob, and PSH was everyone's top choice, followed closely by Bob Hoskins who also died far too soon.

Lately I've kinda been wishing that we could've gotten two more Nolan films. My ideal casting for a complete Nolan-verse (in a perfect world) would be:

Batman: Christian Bale
Alfred Pennyworth: Michael Caine
Jim Gordon: Gary Oldman
Robin: Joseph Gordon Levitt
The Joker: Heath Ledger
Harley Quinn: Brittany Murphy
Catwoman: Anne Hathaway
Two-Face: Aaron Eckhart
Ra's Al Ghul: Liam Neeson
Talia Al Ghul: Marion Cotillard
Bane: Tom Hardy
The Riddler: Leonardo DiCaprio (WB pushed for this after Inception)
The Penguin: Phillip Seymour-Hoffman
Mister Freeze: Matt Damon (Nolan approached him for Dent, and later cast him in Interstellar)
Scarecrow: Cillian Murphy
Poison Ivy: Jessica Chastain (she was in Interstellar, and let's be honest, she'd make a perfect Pamela Isley)

Obviously this cast is completely unrealistic, but that's the beauty of fancasting!!

I agree. I love Margot and I support her as Harley but Brittany would've gone all out imo. Margot didn't do that with the voice and all.

Yes, i'm going to keep picking at Margot's Harley voice because it adds a lot of flair to the character that was lacking in SS.

Everyone's got limitations.

It's down to personal opinion but aside from Black Mirror, Bryce hasn't been the most interesting actress.

If she can do it, cool, but I don't think she's best choice available.

Natalie Dormer, Christina Hendricks and Evan Rachel Wood all have that inherent attitude that would make them right for IVY

I don't think she needs the virtually no clothing look, but I would expect something in the traditional "swimsuit" range. If Enchantress can wear even less when that wasn't even her look in the comics, Ivy shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't use Enchantress as an example of doing something well. Ivy doesn't really have a "definitive look." It's changed a lot over the years.

Whether or not you like the Enchantress outfit, my main point there is that Warner Bros. is willing to give characters sexy outfits. I think it's a different scenario with Carol Danvers because (1) her swimsuit look didn't really have anything to do with her characterization, and (2) her Captain Marvel look was well established. Poison Ivy is a seductress who exists outside of social norms, and while she has had different looks, almost all of them have been on the sexy/revealing side. The only exception I know of is the New 52 black and green outfit, and I personally don't care for that too much.

I think Poison Ivy is one of those characters that can have a wide variety of looks throughout the movie. Some can be more plant like and others can be more "Pamela Isley" like for when she might want to blend in a little.

I think the most creative thing to do would be to have Poison Ivy's costume grow and change throughout the film; it can be a bit scanty while manipulating someone, than get full body and intimidating when she means business.

one of my father's criticisms of the White Witch's outfits in Narnia 1 was that it wasn't magical, it didn't sparkle, crackle, crack like ice or do something otherworldly. People need to start realising costume CAN be something that crosses from real-life construction made by Wardrobe Dept. to something created in post - hell, the Kryptonian suits and Supes' cape is CGI anyway. This is just taking the concept one step further.
