Official: Gotham City Sirens directed by David Ayer - Part 1

I now need a southern belle Poison Ivy. I grew up with Uma Thurman (pray4me) but this sounds like a REALLY intriguing take. It says so much about her as a character that she's in charge of her sexuality as well as nature, and that sex is as natural as...nature.

I need to learn how to articulate more good

I think Poison Ivy is one of those characters that can have a wide variety of looks throughout the movie. Some can be more plant like and others can be more "Pamela Isley" like for when she might want to blend in a little.

This.

I know i've asked this before but: How do you all feel about Green Poison ivy? I personally love it in comics. I think for this movie though they should go for a pale look with a tinge of green instead of full on broccoli color lol. Kinda like this pic

I think she should look sickly in a way. Parts of her skin should be "bleached" green, not broccoli green or even hulk green, but like a green rash almost. She is Poison IVY after all...

I think she should look hot rather than sickly. And keep in mind that she's supposed to be the plant, not the person afflicted by the plant. Ivy's immune to toxins.

I feel like they should go for the pale look but instead of how humans have pink undertones, she has green. So deathly but still not sickly.

Heck, I'd almost go with letting her skin tone change a bit with the seasons and scenario, like her costume; Dustin Nguyen and the writer from Lil' Gotham had an issue where Ivy changes with the seasons, costume, personality, and all.

Or maybe have her turn green after fully embracing the plant side after spending the first part still being mostly human.

Not entirely sure how I feel about that one...

I don't think Bryce has the inherent attitude needed for Ivy.

I initially missed this but I'd say it's wholly untrue. Bryce has portrayed various characters that have proven she could bring the proper attitude for Ivy. Honestly, she's one of the best actresses that have been suggested for this particular character.

I respect how intelligent this response is, plus I agree with it. Despite having initially shared the fanart image of she as Ivy I must admit I don't think she'll ever win an Oscar (did anyone suspect Gwyneth Paltrow would, though?) but I do feel she's underrated. She's always a pleasure to watch, although I did miss Pete's Dragon at the cinema and it doesn't seem to be anywhere on Blu-Ray here...strange.

Thank you, first. And really? That is strange, I would've thought it'd be available everywhere at this point. But as soon as you get the chance, definitely watch it. It's a pretty heartfelt story to say the least.

Also, there's just one bit I'd have to disagree with: I absolutely believe some day Bryce will win an Oscar. It just takes the right role that gets everybody talking nonstop. Perhaps when that day comes she'll finally escape being the underrated label. She certainly deserves it.

Oh no I absolute see what you're saying, it's a weird mixture of mass perception and politics - some may feel she's using her family name or something but I'll be part of the standing ovation if/when that day comes though because as I said it's always a pleasure watching her

At least we can agree she probably wouldn't get an Oscar for her roles in films like Spider-Man 3 and Twilight 3 though (as someone who likes both films!) :woot:

But I just love that image of she as Ivy that I really want to see that become reality. I might have to prepare myself should someone else be cast.

I'll be inside that whirlwind of applause too if/when that day comes too, my friend. Though, I will say if anyone thinks she's using her family name to work that'd be unfair to assume. She's actually gone out of her way to do the opposite, and I'd say it's paid off greatly for her to have that attitude.

I can't say I like Twilight 3 (Spider-Man 3 is definitely a guilty pleasure :woot:) but I am biased enough to say I loved Bryce in it. lol :cwink:

As for Poison Ivy, given that studios do sometimes pay more attention to fan reactions when certain people are suggested, it's quite possible she could get the role. Honestly, I haven't seen the internet react to anyone as positively as they did for Bryce where it concerns Ivy.

I forgot this movie was in the planning/making.
Any actress/actor officially announced? Margot Robbie is probably a given.

She's an executive producer so she's absolutely on board. But outside of her, nobody else has really been announced as being a part of the project.

Let's hope Warners is paying attention!

As far as I know nobody's been officially announced, and I believe Margot's filming that Tanya Harding movie, so it's safe to say it's in very early stages.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they did a two-fer with Batgirl and had whoever is cast as Batgirl in Gotham City Sirens too just like Batman in SS. But nobody has been confirmed for either Poison Ivy or Catwoman, yet.

Waiting with bated breath!

I hope they are! That piece of fan art is burned into my brain and it needs to become a reality. :D

On another note, I wouldn't be surprised if Batgirl made an appearance here. It'd certainly be the perfect place to introduce her and get the hype building towards her own movie.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Bryce as Poison Ivy & Paula Patton for Catwoman. Make it happen, WB!

I'd actually dig Paula Patton as Catwoman. At first I really didn't like her makeup in Warcraft but when I actually watched the film I completely forgot about those teeth and believed in Garona as a character. That's gotta say something for her acting.

Paula Patton would be great for Catwoman. I like Bryce Dallas-Howard as Ivy too.
