I would have preferred the original costume but whatever.

I was just wondering, is SSM's goblin's costume the costume he wore in the Spider-girl series? Or it does seem to be more based on that than anything else.

Hey guys!

I thought I'd make my comeback to the hype by posting a few pics you might get a kick out of. Keep in mind that I didn't make any of this myself (had it custom made from various sources) and due to a ton of production problems, the suit is far from perfect. But all in all, I still think it's a pretty good costume. Enjoy!

I also have the knee and shoulder guards done, but even though I thought they looked awesome, it was a real problem trying to get them to stay in place as they kept slipping off, here's a pic of it anyway.

There is a strong resemblance but I think its just coincidence. The Spider-Girl costume doesnt have the pumpkin on his belt, nor does the purple tunic go partly down his upper arm, as in SSM.

Nice job on the costume, Grim.

Pretty cool! I've been meaning to make a Goblin costume of my own, to be honest, though I haven't gotten around to it. It probably won't be for a while yet. Not sure what my plans for this Halloween are.

And more upcoming Hobgoblin art. This cover doesnt bother me as much as the first few.

Interesting that the prologue keeps mentioning "they."

Don't care much for Ramos' art style, but I do like the new Hobgoblin design though. I'm curious to see where that goes...

Thanks for your comments about the costume guys! :woot:

hi all my name is justin i am new to this thread but not new to this site some of you may know me some may not i love the goblin out side of the joker he is probably one of my favorate villians i have been thinking of making a goblin costume based off of the comic similar to how the 90's cartoon was long ears nose and chin pointy teeth you know the way the goblin should look

below is a picture of a prototype bust i was doing to get a feel for if i felt the mask was something i could pull off things like that i like sculpting on a small 3 inch bust because if i can do it in 3 inch i can do it life size it also makes getting aprovials for films a lot faster so you can do the life size mask
photoll.jpg

so i guess what i am asking is if i was to make a mask similart to the picture below would any one be inturested in one i dont want to make a mask just for me as much as i love him i dont ware costumes enough to sculpt personal items any more :(

if i did this mask i would do it in silicone NOT LATEX that way it would move 100% with your face your eyes and mouth would have total movement and expression it would run no more than 500$ i know that may seem like a lot because most people in the superhero world are mainly use to latex or urithain so a 200$ jump in price may scare people off but trust me it is worth it for a mask like this with how sinister he is

also i am including a link to a company called CFX thay are if you ask me one of the best around for silicone masks thay are verry big in the haunted house industry and horror world this link is to their IMP mask it is goblin esk and will be about the same size as the maks i want to make so you can get a feel of how silicone masks move if you have never seen them befor http://compositeeffects.com/blog/product-catalog/silicone-masks/imp-mask/

well i think i rambeled on enough lol let me know what you all think as i feel this could be a great mask and a great start to a grat costume and if the maks takes off i would love to do silicone arms and legs with scails on them that will move and bend just like flesh like the mask will

Man! where where you 6 months ago when I was shopping around to get my suit done? :cmad:

It's funny you should mention CFX 'cause that's where I ordered my mask (actually an Imp mask, like you mentioned) and really people, silicone masks are awesome and well worth the price you pay for them!

I'd be really happy to eventually commission a classic style goblin mask as well as the silicone arms and legs from you (I was actually going to inquire with CFX to see how much they'd charge for that), but seeing as how my whole costume just cost me over a thousand bucks, I'll be slacking on my expenses for a little while...Hope you're still around next year though 'cause I'll be sure to contact you! :woot:

oh ill be around dont worry i love what i do and the things i get to make and i thought thta mask looked like work i have seen befor if you could take some pictures and videos of you with the mask on showibg facial movement and email them to me at [email protected] that would be amazing

i have been wanting to do silicone work for years now but i was afraid the superhero world was not ready for it yet since most masks are either eye masksi or full head cowls like batman where you dont need movement but for a mask like the goblin or the hulk and things where it is a real face silicone is the best bet because latex just wont be good.

as far as the arms and legs go i have no problem doing them i love doing projects that other people have not done yet i like trying to stay ahaid of the curv or slightly begind it since i am a trained special FX artiest and a also a fan boy it gives me a slight advantage over most people

also i do prosthetic teeth like fangs and things like that so if you ever want upper and lower fangs to go with the mask let me know you can go to your dentast and have him do a dental cast send me the dental cast and i can make upper and lower teeth i just made buffy fangs for my halloween costume i didnt cover the gum line like in the buffy show i just did a sculpt over where my teeth are that way it was much easier to talk and drink it also is cheeper

I thought he looked great, if he didn't look menacing enough I don't think that's a problem. On the cover to his first appearance in the comics, it makes note that the Goblin looks silly and 'cute' but is actually one dangerous dude.

Something I have pointed out countless times. Kinda like the Joker. At first glance, you can't find a less threatening-looking guy, and yet he has held an entire city in a grip of terror.

Thanks for posting these cool images Hobby! Really cool! Happy Halloween, here's to the Goblin!

You would think Spidey should HATE Halloween. Pumpkins & bats everywhere he looks. Kids dressing up like monsters. Not to mention that was the day Ben Reilly was killed.

I wonder how much he really notices Halloween. He sees so much freaky crap every day.

The Goblin tattoo that is on Norman's neck now, and apparently his followers as well it seems. Pretty awesome looking.

And the final cover to Osborn #1. Really like the title card's letter O with the Goblin face in it.

Part of me wants that tattoo for myself...and my sane part know that any wife or employer I have wont like it. :csad:

I think they're giving out temporary tattoos of it at comic shops, so there's that alternative. :oldrazz:

I'm currently working on a Goblin redesign that combines elements of the classic, modern and yes-even movie designs. Along with some aspects of actual goblins from old folklore. I'll be posting it soon.

That is an awesome tattoo idea. I might one day get that down the line. Cause i do want to get some Spidey down the road.

I also love the approach of that being a gang sign, sorta how the Crips and Bloods wear colors, people part of the Goblin clan have those tats.
