Well SR just did that so I don't think it's necessary to go there. But if they do it, fine.

I wonder if one of the Guardians there was a close-up on was Ganthett.

We get it already, you're a fan of ILM and not a fan of Sony. Must you keep beating the horse? He died long ago.

:whatever:

Hi, Sony Imageworks employee?:awesome:

Anyway, this trailer was fan-****ing-tastic! Still wished ILM and/or WETA handled the effects on this but here's hoping the final product looks more polished. Sinestro is perfect. Sinestro Corps logo at the start was a sweet ****ing surprise. MCD sounds like MCD and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Just a few more weeks...****.:csad:

MCD sounds like MCD and geoffrey sounds like geoffrey, but they're both perfect

Yeah, what's up with that? It seems weird that the Guardians would be out in the open.

What I think is interesting is that the comics seem to have adopted the same design:

Yeah, I see nothing wrong with MCD for Kilowog.

I liked ye trailer a lot! Though I thought Kilowog's CGI needs some work. Funny enough, tomar looks fine.

I got a question, has Parallax always been a brainless space monster in the comics?

Well from these trailers you can see how they are scrambling to change up the tone of the marketing after the earliest trailer where they tried to mimic the Iron Man tone and that failed miserably.

I just think the action is going to be disappointing with Hector Hammond and Parallax and not a more specific villain Hal can "fight" with his constructs.

I got a question, has Parallax always been a brainless space monster in the comics?

Well no considering Parallax was originally the name of the evil Hal Jordan who went crazy and tried to kill everybody.

Guardians look great. Still don't like Hal's mask or his eyes when the mask is on.

I would still say no then. Parallax sort of had this demonic entity characterization.

Brainless no, It had sentience - Parallax retroactively was an ancient entity that both lived off and created fear, it generated it and at the same time fed off the fear it produced in others, like a vicious circle causing entire civilizations to destroy each other out of paranoia as it fed off their fear, becoming more and more powerful, this is what it lived for.

The Guardians eventually trapped it in the Central Battery, that is why the GL’s had to be fearless (or rather be able to overcome any fear) to use the rings.
When Sinestro discovered the Parallax entity in the Central Battery, he with his own fears directed it at Hal Jordan to destroy Hal.
Then at the ruins of Coast City, Hal finally broke and let all his doubts and fears rush in, unknown to him mixed in was the Parallax entity pointed directly at him.

according to Geoff Johns that is

Well yeah , and everyone writing at DC who wanted to bring Hal and the Corps back! And well everyone else too, since except for a few bitter fans who will never accept it, that’s the current accepted canon.
I’m sure a later generation will one day put their own spin on it too and that will be canon.
Maybe they’ll have Kyle shockingly go inexplicably murdering-spree crazy and use it to introduce their own “new” Green Lantern.:awesome:

I already knew that Parallax created fear, that it lived off of it, that the Guardians of the Universe trapped it in the central power battery. And the fact that it destroyed worlds by creating paranoia. And the fact that it got stronger when it made people fearful. :oldrazz:

Cool trailer but i still have a few little gripes. Somethin bothers me about the way hals body moves when its in the suit. like its just super obvious cgi and it takes me out of the movie a little bit, same with the mask. and also maybe you guys can fill me in on this, but does hal actually fight parallax and hammond? like a brawl where they actually fight back? Anyway, yeah its lookin good and i hope it does well so dc makes movies about other heroes besides batman

Well then that answers your question, that's what it's "sentient brain" wants.
And when it infects a person or civilization it uses those “brains” to generate and feel more fear, and feeds off that.

I got a question, has Parallax always been a brainless space monster in the comics?

Did the Guardians of the Universe ever have those things that look like protective head domes around their heads? I wonder if they actually serve some sort of purpose in the movie.

Well I gotta say that 'things' aren't always what they seem. :oldrazz:

If that wasn't the case then I wouldn't have pondered wether Parallax was ever brainless or not in the comics, and to be fair, there are alot of different Green Lantern comics. I haven't read alot of issues so far, I'm very 'slowly' catching up.

No as far as I know they never had that in the comic, and it’s probably more than anything just a movie thing to make them look more alien and less like David Ben-Gurion.

But it’s kind of cool because it kind of mirrors the Lantern's uniforms where you can see energy synapses firing as they engage their will. Where the Lanterns use their rings the Guardians use their minds.

I Agree, they look cool with them and they make them look interesting (imo).

Those robot thingies on Oa in the movie, maybe they are suppose to be Oa's planet wide armor and defensive system. Hopefully they aren't, but if they are, they could look better.
