Well from these trailers you can see how they are scrambling to change up the tone of the marketing after the earliest trailer where they tried to mimic the Iron Man tone and that failed miserably.

I just think the action is going to be disappointing with Hector Hammond and Parallax and not a more specific villain Hal can "fight" with his constructs.

Just don't see the film dude. You complain and whine about everything. Seriously, don't waste your time or money when it comes to this Green Lantern film. Your going to hate it no matter what, so what is the point?

Ok finally watched it....it was dope....and I liked the 1st trailer..this one was 5x better

Hal Jordan was based on Paul Newman, though.

The look of him, but I think he means Hal was based on Errol Flynn in terms of attitude.

I just hope the movie will end up being good. Even right now, it's hard to pin down the quality despite the talent ( Johns, Campbell and the cast) involved. Regardless if there's too much CGi here i just hope Campbell delivers.

My fear is Hal, to be honest. He looks cool and all that, sure. But in terms of actual character, he seems to be overshadowed by the other GLs. Kilowog and Sinestro just seem much more memorable and cooler than he does going by everything i've seen so far. Obviously you can't tell what a character is really like from trailers, so I'm not jumping the gun. But at the same time you need something from the lead character in the trailers that makes you go "Yea, this guy is awesome, I wanna see his story". I don't get that at all. I'm more excited about Sinestro, and i'm sure i'm not alone there.

Supporting characters should be memorable and cool too, but not overshadow the titular/lead character.

It's Ryan Reynolds. He's a scene stealer, man. But yeah, I'm more excited about Sinestro as well. Can't wait to see him in all his pompous glory in live action.

Yea i like Reynolds, a lot. But the Hal character just seems... there. There just seems to be nothing unique or memorable about him, thus far. Apart from a smirk when he's floating in front of the sun.

Isnt that the point of his character? That he's just a mere human surrounded by exotic aliens? He's suppose to be the fish out of water.

Yea, that doesn't mean he has no personality though. He just seems generic, to me.

2 min trailer versus 120min+ film. Give his character development a chance until you see the actual movie.

But a trailer still needs to do the job of making you go "Yea, this guy is awesome, I wanna see his story".

It fails, for me. I wanna see this movie because of Sinestro and the other GLs, not Hal Jordan, the titular character.

Going around various movie blogs I can't believe how much people are hating on this film, especially after this trailer which is a vast improvement over anything we've seen. Calls of too much CG, hammy acting, F4 like cheesiness, my mind boggles at the amount of hate geared toward this movie.

The new trailer didn't seem overly cheesy at all. And complaining about too much CGI in a film like this is asinine. If it was terrible CGI? Sure. But for the most part, in the new trailer anyway, it looks pretty sweet.

Funny, that's what the finished film said to me also.

And Batman is Batman. People already know him. Hal Jordan? People need convincing that this guy is awesome. The trailer fails at that in my opinion.

Just don't see the film dude. You complain and whine about everything. Seriously, don't waste your time or money when it comes to this Green Lantern film. Your going to hate it no matter what, so what is the point?

Not to butt in, but being negative can be OK. Not everyone feels obligated to post how excited they are for this film. He is posting valid points as well. It will probably be more entertaining to see Hal use the ring in his training than in the fights. The villains are not necessarily villains you can fight with cool ring objects, and I understand why he is expressing his doubts for this part of the film.

Well i'm not trying to change anyones mind, just expressing my opinion.

Honestly, what is there about Hal Jordan in all the trailers we've seen that makes him stand out? He's a bit cocky, but he's also a bit unsure of himself and he wants to save Earth. Yea... and? I've seen that type of character a million times over.

What did the Joker say to Batman? "You complete me". Essentially, when referring to the Joker, you are referring to Bats as well
