I decided against 3D last second. :(

Oh well, when I go see it on tuesday it'll be in 3D. :D

Apparently is a lot better than Clash of Titans. I dont know since i didnt watch that movie in the theaters. But i thought the 3D was great!

The people who really think the movie is bad is really the comic book crowd but the mainstream audience seems to really like it so I wont be surprised if the movie does good we really only make up a small part of the demographic.

Forget the CB crowd, it's the critics that went after this movie first. They call it light, shallow and uninspired.

Personaly I don't know i've not seen the flick yet. :woot:

I'm not big on 3D. I've seen it in 3D at the preview and 2D at midnight. I preferred 2D, but the 3D was genuinely good for the space scenes.

The 3D for Clash of the Titans was a last minute after thought. WB planned from the start to convert Green Lantern to 3D. Not saying Green Lantern's 3D is awesome as I haven't seen it in 3D but just putting it in perspective.

The real question is...should they have skipped the 3D and spent the money on better writers?

Strange things is...there are probably a lot of comic fans, and even GL fans, who were opposed to 3D....especially post-conversion But the 3D screenings just might save this movie's bacon.

Yes.

Unfortunately the studios are under the delusion that evey 3D movie is going to make Pirates 4, Alice in Wonderland and Avatar money.

What is wrong with some of you guys!!??

THIS MOVIE WAS FREAKIN' ENTERTAINING!!! :hal::woot: Just got back from seeing it!

Great pacing....Reynolds was very good! The CGI was great too!

Does it follow the GL mythos completely?? No! But none of these movies do! I went in with negative expectations because of reading the critics and the message boards.....But I was satisfied!

I hope word of mouth does not kill this box office! I want to see Sinestro in a sequel.

Saw the full movie today. In 3D.

Many of the problems people had with the movie I shared. Primarily the script and shoddy editing. However, the main cast ranged from solid to excellent. Ryan Reynolds definitely showed the serious sides to his character, and I frankly don't see how Blake Lively gave a 'wooden' performance. (Those scenes on the balcony showed she has range.) And Mark Strong was a superb Sinestro, no doubt about that.

I enjoyed the movie, but there were some serious flaws and missed opportunities abound. I pray this makes enough for a sequel, and that way they can fix most of the problems this film had. And the 3D is definitely the best post-converted 3D I've seen -- all the film is brightly-lit so there's no headaches about the picture being too dark. And there wasn't many gimmicky 3D effects, just enough to be immersive. The movie also plays well in 2D, so it's up to you whether you want to spend the extra dough.

Somewhere around 60 sounds about right. The real test is its legs. It's a packed summer too and there are some monster releases on the way.

The only thing left I want to know is WB's reaction, and where they're going to go from here.

Hopefully WB will realize it has massive potential, it just needs some fine tuning, editing & script-wise. Maybe a better director too.

As in if an apparently bad movie can do okay in its opening wknd...think of what a rebooted good one can do over the long haul.

I just saw it. it was good not great. It's like they filmed the abridged version of the GREAT script I read 2 years ago. (which I got from this board) it was almost like they ran out of money so decided to scale down all the hotness I read :(

There was so much awesomeness I read in the script that leaked online, that wasn't in this flick it broke my heart. Like the part I read where Parallax attacks Oa and Hal Jordan puts on TEN RINGS and with unfathomable power goes all Almighty on him....CUT :(

Not to mention all those great scenes with him and his father, mother, and sinestro. This story movie would've benefited from another 30 mins of character development for Hal and Sinestro. Not to mention they really low balled Green Lantern's first rescue, it was soooo awesome in that script, in the movie they just rushed it :(
