Theres a Red Queen that debuts in this issue. She has red hair and pink psi energy and she seems to lead over a group that includes Empath. She has him manipulate the Hellfire Cult. Then she binds his arms to the wall and whips him with her whip. She has a mask over her face and is in a leather bondage like costume.

Is it Jean? Madelyne Pryor? Queen Jean from the X-Men series? I'm hearing its Madelyne Pryor.

Scans daily posted the entire issue of the Classic X-Men #43 backstory. Its the issue that introduces Jean's White Phoenix identity. If anyone hasn't read the issue, check it out.

Its a nice little issue, even with Claremont's dialogue, because its probably the best explanation of the Phoenix and its connection to Jean thats ever been told.

Yeah, I thought that as well when I read it, but I think it's just a red herring, it can't be that obvious. Besides, I don't think Jean would come back in an Avengers book. She'll do it in Uncanny or in some X-mini eventually.

I havent read that book either but yeah I highly doubt they would bring her back in some spinoff Avengers title. Thats like bringing back Scarlet Witch in the pages of Young X-men

It's the only logical choice for what the hints were for Mutant Zero. There is no other red headed mutant that has a dark personality that is herself.

There have been speculations about Typhoid Mary, the Daredevil villain/love interest. She has psionic powers and a split personality so that fits well. She's also passably well known, but I don't remember if she was a redhead, maybe she had dark hair tinged with a bit red?

back during Onslaught, there were many panels were I confused Wanda with Jean bc they were colored with the same hair color

Only other one I'd buy is Maddy. It has to be a mutant people. And considering the way it was worded, it has to be Jean.

Yeah, considering the way it was worded, it has to be Jean, that's why I don't think it's her, it's too obvious. Besides, I wouldn't want to have her back like that, like a secondary character in an Avengers spin-off book. Her return should be something bigger, or at least something done in a X-Men book.

The first time Jean died during the Dark Pheonix Saga, she was later brought back in an issue of the Fantastic Four. So anything is possible.

It was highly promoted though and was part of the X-factor tie-in, so her fans and the X community knew to look there. This kind of seems out of place, but like you said anything is possible

It seems like Mutant Zero, Messiah Child, and Red Queen all have the potential to be Jean.

One of them is bound to be Jean right? The identities of Red Queen and Mutant Zero will be revealed next month.

Theres an add for Uncanny X-Men #503 that says "a mysterious redhead will make her fiery return". The solicitation for Avengers Initiative #18 says they will unmask Mutant Zero.

So far we know...

Mutant Zero is a redhead. She seems to have telepathy (she used suggestion to cause another person not to see her) and telekinesis (she tk'ed a gun to her and her tk energy looked fiery/glowing). Her worst fear is her own dark side which goes by a different name.

The Messiah Child has red hair and green eyes. She had the Phoenix Effect in her eyes and seems to have levitated into a tree.

Red Queen also has red hair, green eyes, and telepathy and telekinesis.

Red Queen will probably be Madelyne (in time for Ex Infernus). But maybe either Mutant Zero or Messiah Child will be Jean?

Maybe its something like after Superman's death when he was killed by Doomsday, a bunch of different versions of Superman were introduced (like Superboy...) and then the actual Superman came back.

I hope thats not the case, bc there have already been several variations of Jean (Phoenix II, Phoenix III (Rachel), and Maddie). Adding more would just convolute and confuse things even more

hey all
i've been reading this thread for a long time now, and never registered...well i decided to participate for once

anyways, reading over the last few messages, i have a small idea
in the end of phoenix endsong we all know Jean went to the white hot room to "collect her pieces"....so we know the cuckoos have/had one, and
what if the other "remaining pieces" are the red queen, mutant zero, and the baby...or some such combination...i have the feeling that when and if Jean does come back, there will be some sort of incorporating these random "pieces/bits" of the force...(think Inferno/Maddie/Phoenix memories)
is that reaching?

OK!!!!!!!!!first of all storm is my all tiem 1st fav character and jean is second and YES!!!!it hasnt been tha same without our jeanie but i just saw a preview of uncanny x-men #503 and there is a red head in there with green eyes shes wearing black so could this be jean?????i hope so im gonna go check this comic out and i think u all should to cuz if its jean my god i would be so happy and storm of course would to lol but yea i cant wait to see if its jean or not
