Days of Future Past Official Rate and Review DAYS OF FUTURE PAST - Part 1

Except for that fact that I never even came close to suggesting she have a role which requires her to be on wires for 12 hours.

Let's just cut this conversation off here though. It's pretty clear this can't be discussed in a civil manner and it needn't take up anymore time.

But you were grossly overgeneralizing how pregnancies work, all because you wanted Storm to have more screentime. You brought the subject up, dude.

But yes, let's move on. It's ridiculous how this topic came to fruition in the first place.

Somebody else brought it up her pregnancy when I said I wanted her to have "SLIGHTLY" more screen time. :cwink:

But then you decided to delve into the subject in a way that would be offensive if it wasn't so laughably ignorant.

And yes, it's time to move on from the subject.

I wanna watch it again, but it'll probably wait for blu-ray
them damn movies are a little too rich for my blood these days </oldguywhining>

Saw again for a second time today, even better the second time. Great movie.

Too bad the projector was off a little bit and there was some blurriness. But it didn't affect my enjoyment.

LOL ... I'm just glad I don't live in Los Angeles. Heard they were paying like $16-$18.

Btw, loved your review, we share similar thoughts about the film. :applaud

Yikes, glad im not out there
Even matinees these days are gettin pricey for me

I went again with a relative, and I will agree, better the second time! I'm ready for the Blu Ray now. :o

Still trying to find a time for my second viewing. When X2 came out I was just a kid with nothing but time on my hands. Real life, you are so bittersweet.

Second view for me, the movie is AEESOME, the story is captivating, the plot keeps your interest all the time, the experience is better the bigger the screen is! Not just any movie, it is so good as they used to make them in the old days...

This was so far the best X-Men movie made yet... I was really impressed on quite a few levels that they were able to pull themselves out of the X-3 Wolverine: Origins rut.

I thought this was one of the greatest comic book movies of all time plain and simple. In my opinion there are only two other comic based films I'd even put in the same stratosphere. Those being TDK which immediately after my first viewing I saw again. The other being the Avengers which was an excellent movie in a different way but still excellent.

Glad people are liking the film. It is very likable.

I watched DOFP yesterday. 10/10

Needed to let it sink in. I was still thinking about it as I got out of the shower a few minutes ago. I'll write up a longer review (hopefully :p) a few hours from now when I'm off work.

I'd put it in the second tier with IM, Cap 2, (not amazing)Spidey 2, X2 (hm, lotta 2's on there)
Avengers and TDK are still something special though

Really? That's such a bummer; I thought this was a homerun. Any particular objections to the film?

I'll type up a proper review later as I've just come home but it felt so... rushed, and very much all over the place in terms of tone and pace. It felt like a movie that probably exists in a rather fantastic 3 hour form that was chopped up and pieced together. I also thought the dialogue was... suspect, to say the least. The scene where they discussed sending Wolverine to the past was one of th worst examples of exposition I can remember in the entire franchise.

My highlight was Quicksilver.

So what you are saying is you are upset Wolverine was taken out of that last fight and not the sole and main focus of the film?

I kid I kid... Hope you like the next one better!

Really? I saw no problem with the dialogue at all. The one movie in the series that I would pick out as having good amounts of poor dialogue is First Class.

And I don't think it felt rushed or poorly paced at all. One of the things I really like about the movie is that it felt streamlined. Each scene served the plot and there were no pointless subplots.

I was actually quite glad Wolverine wasn't the focus of the film for a change but I didn't feel like the Charlies/Raven relationship was a compelling lead relationship either, sadly.

Oh no, I thought the future dialogue was incredibly dodgy, especially those first few scenes. The rest was mostly fine. I agree that FC was notably bad in that respect.

The problem for me was that it went from streamlined to very plot driven instead. It just jumped from scene to scene as plot dictated - something that gave me appalling flashbacks of TLS. The sense of depth of character was few and far between. Apart from Charles who had quite a few nice moments.

I dunno. No one is more surprised than me. I've championed this film since I joined the board (it was the reason I joined!) and I'm a bit gutted it just did absolutely nothing for me.

I was very wary of even posting my opinion on the film given how well it's been received. :O :(

Too bad DoubleB. Try seeing it a 2nd time, some have liked it better. Now that you know how the movie is constructed, it won't come as a shock. I too noticed that things jumped from A to B really quickly, and I would've liked a slower, more natural flow, but still somehow the film managed to stay intact for me.

Yes, I may give it a second chance next week. I guess I was hoping that, for all the action, I'd see a more character driven movie, with a natural flow/pace with moments of reflection and subtlety (as I've come to expect from Singer) - rather than what we got.

I'd agree that in pacing it's sometimes similar to TLS. The difference is that with DOFP, every scene is done well and contains much vital information. If you manage to absorb all the things fast, it works. 20 mins more to the runtime would've been great though. Anyway, I like the film and hope you get more out of it the next time.
