Spider-Man 3 Official Thread for the Spider-Man 3 Footage on Heroes and NBC.com!

how are people going to know his identity if his mask is off? yea they see his face, but they don't know he's peter parker do they. unless his picture is in the bugle, then he has reason for concern.

Even so, if his face keeps being seen in public, someone will be able to take a cell phone picture or make at least a sketch of his face, and not all of them will be thankful people Spidey has saved like in the train sequence.

The little kid in Spider-Man 2 knew Peter took pictures for the Bugle. So I guess the Bugle makes it known that the pictures are taken by Peter Parker.

The little kid in SM2 was Henry Jackson, Aunt May's neighbor who personally knows Peter and would likely know he was a photographer for the Daily Bugle through neighborly chit chat between his parents and Aunt May.

In SM1, Jameson protected Peter's identity when Green Goblin came looking for the photographer who takes pictures of Spider-man. "I don't know who he is. His stuff comes in the mail."

It's realistically possible that Peter doesn't get bylines in the newspaper. Many newspapers don't print bylines for stringer photographers. I know this personally from having my byline withheld because I wasn't an actual employee and it was company policy to credit official "payroll" based staff only. In other cases, I've had to use an alias name for photo credits due to non-employee status or for non-compete purposes.

sorry if this has been said but any notice right before Harry grabs Peter his spider sense didn't go off? it seems inconsistant with Spiderman 2 where he's also riding on his moped then a car speeds up from behind and he does a flip in the air

I agree that they didn't give Peter enough time for an altered expression in recognition of Spidey sense for this clip.

I do wonder one thing though. This clip is actually just an extended trailer where scenes are piece-mealed together. It's clear from the teaser trailer that there is dialogue missing from the scene between Aunt May and Peter. Remember Peter's "I think I can" statement from the trailer?. It's absent from this extended clip. Soooooo it's possible that there's additional footage (i.e. spidey sense, etc) leading up to the Harry/Peter fight scene and heck, even additional fight scene footage too. I think this is a taste test of things to come. We might not even be getting a full appetizer for all we know.

damn, I know it's kinda off topic, but the complete Aerial Fight has been broadcasted on one of my local tv channels; only the fight (they cut the peter-mj scene and the aunt may on). The host also talked about the 300 trailer, he said that sony confused information and now everybody in america hates them x)

But remember in the seven minute clip we saw online Peter went to his Aunt May's house late at night and in the trailer when he is talking with her it is bright day.

I have a question and if anyone can answer it for me, it would be greatly appreciated. How do you get the NBC clips onto windows movie maker? On my computer it says that it isn't a supported file type, therfore it can't be imported.

Yeah, good point on that. He's wearing the same outfit though. Guess that threw me.

actually, his face gets a sense of discomfort (in a sense) just before Harry makes contact with him. Watch it again and you'll see it.

But it wasn't clear enough that was his spider sense. Anything could've made his smile fade slightly. Raimi probably chose to make Harry grab Peter out of nowhere to startle the audience, and if Peter used his spider sense the audience wouldn't get that affect.

Oh my god! Who cares if he senses Harry or not? It's not important, it won't ruin the film. Get over it.

I completely agree with you, I'm just saying, that Raimi has not abandoned the spider-sense. y'know? I don't know where I'm going with this, it doesn't matter, end of story. btw, Harry got pwned!

Lol, yes he did. It's cool to see Peter Parker swinging around instead of Spider-Man for a change.

I think that it being so brief is part of the point, even if the sense did warn Pete it wouldn´t make a difference cuz Harry was so fast. That kinda thing is done in comics all the time.

Yes but the point is it didn't go off. Regardless of whether or not he could have avoided Harry is completly beside the point, the fact is he didn't seem aware of any danger.

I am reserving judgement on this scene till I see everything that happens before it. We may be fretting over nothing.

It´s not beside the point, given that his reflexes are extremely fast. Harry had to be so fast that Pete´s expression wouldn´t change for more than a half-second, which I think it did. Plus the spider-sense has never been entirely consistent in any version of Spider-Man, it can be a useful device but also kill any suspense if you use it all the time.

I agree and like I said before maybe in the final soundtrack we will hear the spidey sense noise as his expression changes.

Peter's sense went off...his face changed expressions...how do you not see that? He just didn't have enough time or didn't know what to make of it. What was he going to do as soon as his sense went off...jump off of his bike and let it careen into a cab? Plus, if he would have jumped up...Harry would have whacked him anyways...this way it's more dramatic. Plus in true old fashioned glory...Peter's sense would be going off all the time because he doesn't live in a plastic bubble in his basement. Who wants that?

Where would be the intense bang, if they changed that shot to slow motion and that spider sense sound? the point of it was to suprise the audience who barely have time to adjust their eyes to see a flying surfer hurtling towards Parker

actually peter always has that face on when his spider sense goes off. or his expression is close to the same way. why do you think peters expression changed when he looked down at he paper clip? we didn't hear his spider sense but we knew it when't off. same for when Ock through the door to the bank vault, peter sensed that coming which is why he pushed aunt may out of the way fast enough.

Maybe it has it, some of that promo footage is a bit cut, you know... But I don´t miss it. I guess they didn´t show people seeing cuz Pete didn´t have his mask, it would imply they know his secret identity.
But the thing is, everyone knows his secret or will know, because you can´t expect that everyone is the train (Spider-Man 2) kept it a secret.
Even if no one stepped foward to say that they saw him without his mask, people will make questions, people will interview the survivers of the accident, people will know.
That´s the stupidity of that scene (Spider-Man 2), to have him maskless to show that people care for man behind the mask whoever he may be.

I don´t for people to look up and see who Spider-Man is, that would never happen because of the sheer velocity of it all, but it would be nice to see people looking up, to have something that would make it came alive.

But that´s not the least of my problems, in fact, that´s one i can live with.
I don´t like the fact that Peter is a lousy fighter that would get his ass handled by anyone with half a brain; and the fact that the last part of the fight is in between a extremely narrow street.
It doesn´t make it exciting, it makes it confusing and claustrophobic...

And before anyone starts to defend the movie like a good little fanboy, i´m not bashing the movie for it, like i said before, i know that the movie will be good like the others were.
That´s not really hard to come to that conclusion if you know Raimi´s directing abilities and the way he thinks.

I couldn't agree more. the symbiote will bring out the darkness that has been buried within peter. peter's anger will be unleashed on loved ones which will cause for loved ones to turn their back on peter. which is why peter must realize that he has to fight the symbiote and get rid of it befor.........it erases his mental power, personality, everything.

Exactly. I can't wait to see how he reacts around MJ and everyone else he knows.

I know his face changed expressions I am agreeing with you on that point. My point is it seems a little to vague, ew only need to hear the Spidey Sense sound to fully make us aware that he knows something is wrong. Also we don't need it in slow mo. In 1 at the World Unity Festival he senses danger without any slow motion.

Could we all just cut the ****!.... if Pete's spidey sense goes off only a split-second before he's beeing attacked, then that spidey sense is worth absolutely ZERO!!!... face it, instead of trying to come up with some lame explanation to try and make sense out of it. They ****ed up right there; end of story... come to think of it, regarding the spidey sense, they ****ed up royaly many times in these films.

Well, in the train scene people didn´t have a camera phone, so all they saw was a face in a city with millions of them... And Spidey risked his ass to save these people´s lives, so it makes it understandable that nobody tried to expose him, especially now that, in the beginning of 3, Spidey has become popular and recognized as a hero.

To each their own, to me it reinforces the fact that it´s something personal, it´s between Pete and Harry, besides to me them almost hitting the bus and the driver honking is reaction enough.

Funny how people see a scene and see something entirely different: for November Rain, Harry was defeated too easily for someone who´s been thinking about getting revenge from Spidey for years and has Osborn´s resources; for you, he put up too much of a fight... Fanboys are fascinating creatures...:woot:
