I laughed at how the battle between Peter and Harry ended(when Harry hits his head on the pipe and then on the garbage can), it reminded me of when Peter was trying to jump across the building in Spider-Man 2 and instead just got tangled up in the clothesline and hits his back on the car.

Funny how people see a scene and see something entirely different: for November Rain, Harry was defeated too easily for someone who´s been thinking about getting revenge from Spidey for years and has Osborn´s resources; for you, he put up too much of a fight... Fanboys are fascinating creatures...:woot:
But i didn´t said he put much of a fight, i said that Peter is a lousy fighter and got his ass kicked.
Anyone with half a brain would kill him easily.
Harry kicks him around with extreme ease, with Peter only giving him an elbow hit after blinding him with web on his eyes.
Harry, on the other hand, punches him, grabs him by the neck, rips his shirt, uses him as a battering ram...he does it all, until Peter wins by pulling a cowardly stunt and "hitting him when he isn´t looking".

An fanboys...not at all, i´m a fan yes, but a fanboy is a blind individual that likes or hates anything in extreme.

^Spider-Man has never been a brute force fighter and any fan would know that. He uses his wit...(Peter Parker is very smart after all) to defeat his villians. It is stupid to think Spider-Man would win every fight with his muscles and not his brains.

Thats right, Peter is one of the most intelligent heroes out there and you can see that when he distracts Harry by throwing the pumpkin bat right back at Harry. And remember Peter doesn't want to fight Harry so his not going to do anything major to hurt him except the closeline which Peter didn't expect to amost kill him. Peter takes hard hits but he can take the pain.

As for the Spider sense, Harry came at Peter really ****ing fast. He grabs him in 1 second.

Anyone else feel stupid for watching Peter gets grabbed by Harry and not immediately saying. WHAT THE ****?!

Is it me or did Peter decide not to turn on his Spidey Senses that day?

His spider-sense went off. We just didn't see it in the slow-motion we are used to seeing it in.

^Yeapers...I am sure we will get that classic sound come movie time from his sense going off. Plus, it would get really old really quick if his sense went off all the time during the movie. You could deffinitely see his face change from that goofy grin to a perplexed look right before Harry grabs him. He knew something was happening, he just didn't have enough time to figure out what it was.

Peter was caught by surprise, most of his "ass-kicking" happens there. Plus Peter was worried about the ring, which distracted him momentarily. Harry has all Osborn´s technology and the Goblin serum too. Overall, Peter handled Harry pretty well, knocked him out of his glider, defeated all his pumpkin razors and even used them against him and defeated him with a single move.

The HD idea of showing off this thing is great, but not all LIKE MY SELF can play it smoothly, so I dont understand what's happened to good old fashioned QuickTime-format!!? Would it have been so difficult to put that next to the HD version? that's my point.

Yes but the point is it didn't go off. Regardless of whether or not he could have avoided Harry is completly beside the point, the fact is he didn't seem aware of any danger.

I am reserving judgement on this scene till I see everything that happens before it. We may be fretting over nothing.

From what I saw I was under the impression that his spider-sense did go off, granted that it went off a little too late, it still went off. My gripe with this is, that it highlights the inconsistencies that these spidey movies are known for. Why should his sense be functioning properly at one time and then not at another, for no apparant reason? Its ******ed. These movies need to fix up because these mistakes are easily avoidable.

What about fixing them on the comic books, cartoons, etc., cuz that "******ed and easily avoidable" mistake has been made a number of times in all of them...

once there are more than around 80 odd films on spidey, then you can start relating, film mistakes to others made in media...

the sheer bulk of what goes on in animation and comics mean that spider sense errors are less likely to turn up in relation to the amount of produced being made.

but as yet there are only two films and snippets of a third...

two big budget films where mistakes are going to seem that much more obvious so more care should really be taken into getting them right.

Adding to what Nov said, sure, the comics have more than their fair share of mistakes but thats no excuse for the movies to make the same mistakes. Mistakes are meant to be learned from not repeated or to be made worse. Raimi claims he's been a long time fan and that he "gets" spider-man. As a fan, just like you and I, who are able to point out mistakes and errors that we can identify in the comics, wouldn't it make sense for the fan Raimi claims he is to, do things right, correct the things that need correcting, especially if he's drawing inspiration from the original Lee era of spidey comics, where the spidey sense in this instance was worth a damn?

maybe the spidey sense thing is apart of his learning of his powers or maybe i'm totally wrong and someone is screwing up big time.

First of all, the sense was handled just right in that scene for me, Peter´s expression wouldn´t change for more than a half-second, to indicate how fast Harry attacked, and it did. And we all make mistakes. Want perfection, talk to God.

The proportion then is about right, cuz that stuff has been done in other medias like a thousand times. I think it´s a terribly condescending argument to imply that mistakes are to be more forgiven in comics and cartoons than in the movies.

I couldn't agree more. It will always be an unsolved mystery amongst geeks. :o

I didn´t said that he was a brute force fighter, but he isn´t Batman either.
Spider-Man is, above all, agile. His greatest power is his agility and spider-sense.
Combine both, and you have to be fast and skillful to actually land a punch on the webhead.

so i just saw the footage from NBC.
Could someone answer me a question.
When did the goblin go from being a power ranger villan, to an x games reject?
