Official Tom Clancy's The Division

Iv pretty much lived on this game since patch 1.4. Thought Survival was pretty cool but kind of felt a little out of place here, at least in terms of overall loot collecting. The theme of survival is awesome, but there isnt a big incentive to play through a match of it, in terms of getting some solid loot.

Im hoping Last Stand adds some more story elements and expands the map further into NYC. After 1.4, doing things in the open world has been primarily how iv geared up. That and Underground missions.

Dota 2, The Division list among the best-selling Steam games of 2016

January 2, 2017 18 Comments

One of my favorite things to do at the end of each calendar year is to read all of the “best of” lists that get posted all over the place. Steam is contributing to my delight, as it has posted its top 100 best-selling PC games of 2016. Plenty of MMOs, MOBAs, and online multiplayer titles dominate the list, which makes it interesting reading for those invested in our hobby.

The highest-revenue titles on the list (the “platinum” sellers) included The Division, Dota 2, and No Man’s Sky. Gold sellers welcomed ARK: Survival Evolved, Warframe, and H1Z1: King of the Kill to the club, while silver sellers gave tribute to Elder Scrolls Online and SMITE.

And at the bottom of the top 100 sellers, the “bronze” titles, are games like Final Fantasy XIV, Tree of Savior, Path of Exile, H1Z1: Just Survive, Grim Dawn, and Elite Dangerous. Note that all of these titles only mark games that had the highest grossing revenue, possibly thanks to sales, and do not reflect how much time was spent among the community playing them.Read more

Free support is always nice.

Ubisoft has been pretty good with The Division's expansions and DLC. In fact, one of the pieces of content they released managed to turn around the Steam reviews for the game and bring it into a more positive domain.
Now, with Year 2 on the horizon, Ubisoft is planning more DLC for The Division and the first two expansion will be free. Speaking with Game Rant, creative director Julian Gerighty revealed Ubisoft's intention to deliver two expansions to The Division over the game's second year.
“We are looking to reengage the players in light of the first year celebration for The Division by recommitting ourselves to the game in the upcoming 12 months. We will be delivering two separate expansion packs for the game free to everybody in the next 12 months.”
Taking to Reddit, Ubisoft revealed some details on Year 2's expansions, which you can find below:
Year 2

 • Massive and the other Studios stay committed to the game
 • They want to provide a fun and balanced content that will also reward you for playing
 • No Season Pass, all content will be free and released on all platforms at the same time
Additional Maintenance

 • They continue with maintaining the game to give a good experience
 • Bug-Fixing / Balancing will continue
 • There can also be more client patches than just the big DLCs
Story Missions in Year 2?

 • There will not be big map expansions or level increases in year 2
 • They will work on story content and have more narrative in the game but we got no specific details
PTS in Year 2

 • They continue with PTS for the two big Year 2 updates to get the direct feedback from the community
 • It is also intended that consoles will get a PTS
DLC 1 (July / August)

Loadouts for players

 • There will be a tab in the inventory called loadouts with 6 slots that enables you to save your equipped loadout. (Weapon, mods, equipment, skills and talents)
 • This way you can switch on the fly (Image - this is a very early version)
Seasons (this is not the final name)

 • “Seasons” are limited timed events that feature a number of activities with a modifier that give rewards for participation and completion. They will also have leaderboards.
 • Modifiers of seasons are for example “close range” so you have to fight close range (below 15m). You may even need to change your build to participate more effectively.
 • As of now these Seasons are intended for PVE but they can also expand them to PVP (still in discussion)
 • When you perform very well in the Seasons and when are on top of the leaderboards or when you just participated, you will get rewards, patches etc. These rewards are exclusive to these seasons, so you need to participate to get them. Once the seasons are over you will not be able to get them.
Feats of the moment (not final name)

 • "Feats" are going to be in-game challenges and achievements that will give you special patches
 • These are short term, medium term, long term goals.
 • Celebrate moments of great achievements (like completing all legendary missions) Unlock x amounts of points etc.
 • They are also retroactive, so you probably have already unlocked some
New Vanity Slot

 • There will also be a new “special vanity slot"
 • It will be exclusive for seasons
 • No specific details were given
DLC 2 (fall/winter)

 • They were very vague about that
 • This should be more narrative oriented
 • It should also contain replayable content

The Division pushes loadouts to the test server in hefty bug-fixing update

April 21, 2017 2 comments

There’s a new patch on The Division’s public test server today, the star of which is surely the loadouts system first teased last month.

“Loadouts offer players the chance to save their equipped Weapons, Gear, Skills and Talents to Loadout slots, allowing for quick swapping of builds to be used for different activities,” the patch notes say. “Players will be able to create and save up to 6 Loadouts per character. Each Loadout can be directly equipped when out of combat.”

It’s mostly bug and balance and quality of life patch beyond that; expect tweaks for the PvP-centric Dark Zone, a few weapon nerfs, and minor talent and skill adjustments. When does it migrate to the real servers? That’s anybody’s guess.

The Division‘s 1.6.1 update is now available to download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The major new feature in this update is the introduction of Loadouts. Loadouts allow players to save their equipped weapons, gear, skills, and talents to Loadout slots, allowing for quick swapping of builds. Players will have access to six Loadouts per character, with the option to freely switch between them at any time while outside of combat.
As well as this, the update removes aim assist when hip-firing with a controller, increases the capacity of all high-end backpacks to 110 (120 with all Base of Operations perks unlocked), and removes the NinjaBike Backpack from the game so that it can be revamped.
Finally, update 1.6.1 also makes changes to Last Stand, the Dark Zone, Survival, Underground, skills, talents, and Incursions.
Read the full patch notes below:
NEW FEATURE: LOADOUTS

 • Loadouts offer players the chance to save their equipped Weapons, Gear, Skills and Talents to Loadout slots, allowing for quick swapping of builds to be used for different activities.
 • Players will be able to create and save up to 6 Loadouts per character.
 • Each Loadout can be directly equipped when out of combat.
GAMEPLAY

 • Aim assist will no longer be activated when players hip-fire with a controller.
 • Fixed several bugs that could prevent players from being revived by skills or player interaction if they were previously being revived by a support station and this revive was canceled for various reasons.
 • Fixed instances of HVT bosses remaining stuck in their spawn room preventing completion of the contract.
 • Fixed instances where players would be stuck “in combat” with NPCs outside of the mission area after completing a mission.
 • Fixed a bug where Resistance to Status Effects would still be counted as a chance to resist the effect altogether, on top of reducing its duration. The resistance value will now correctly only reduce the duration of a Status Effect.
 • Fixed a bug where a few fire extinguishers would deal high amount of damage to NPCs in some missions. For consistency, fire extinguishers in the entire game will no longer deal any damage and only apply the disorient effect to NPCs.
 • Fixed a bug where grenades thrown by LMB grenadiers would sometimes apply stagger and damage before they actually detonated.
ITEMS

 • Backpack capacity will no longer be randomly generated for all High-End, Exotic and Gear Sets backpacks. Instead, they will all have a capacity of 110 (120 with all Base of Operations perks unlocked). This change is retroactive.
 • Level 34 extended magazines will now roll between 109% and 121% extra magazine size (instead of 109 to 111%). This change is not retroactive.
 • Existing old level 33 extended magazines that had a magazine size bonus above 108% will be reduced to 108%.
 • Nimble will now apply healing over time in 4 ticks over 4 seconds.
 • NinjaBike Backpack has been removed from all loot tables until it can be correctly revamped. That means that it will no longer drop from NPCs or in Exotic Caches.
 • Fixed a bug where some items could not be recalibrated to the maximum stat range that was displayed at the recalibration station. (reported by Bratwurst.Bob)
 • Fixed a bug with Path of the Nomad where the four-piece talent cooldown progress would reset upon death in Last Stand. (reported by Koto2016)
 • Fixed a bug with Tactician’s Authority where the 4 piece bonus wouldn’t reset correctly when starting a back-to-back Last Stand game session.
TALENTS

 • Fixed a bug with First Aid Booster Shot where applying the skill another time while the buff was still active would not refresh its duration.
 • Fixed a bug with Ballistic Shield when using 4 piece D3-FNC where the mod bonuses would still apply despite what the Gear Set talent states.

During the most recent State of the Game, Ubisoft revealed that it will be adding a new tier of gear called Classified Gear Sets to the game with the release of update 1.7.
Classified Gear Sets are improved versions of the Gear Sets already in the game and come with an additional five- and six-piece set bonus. According to Ubisoft, Classified gear will drop at Gear Score 256 and will start with the same stats as the maximum rolls of the current 256 items, meaning that they will always be an upgrade. Players can also reroll two of the stats.
These new sets will keep the green coloring of the current Gear Sets and can be used in conjunction with them to unlock the currently available set bonuses, but a full set of Classified gear is required to unlock the new five- and six-piece bonuses.
So, how do you earn them? Classified Gear Sets will be awarded as part of the new Global Events system being introduced with update 1.7. Each Global Event will award Classified versions of three Gear Sets until all have been released. After a Global Event ends, the three Classified sets will be added to the general loot pool.
Six of these Classified sets will be available to test on the Public Test Server for 1.7 once it goes live.
A release date for update 1.7 has not been confirmed.

The Division‘s first test of update 1.7 will hit the Public Test Server on PC later today, with a console release to follow “soon.”
As usual, all owners of The Division on PC can download the PTS and test out the update. However, the test will be limited to just 10,000 players on Xbox One and 10,000 players on PlayStation 4. Developer Massive Entertainment will invite players from a pool that includes people who have played in the last month and are at end game. Successful players will get an email with a code to download the PTS client.
This first PTS update will include pretty much everything coming in update 1.7 except for Global Events, which will be activated at a later date.
Players will get the chance to test out the new Classified Gear Sets, the Commendations and Patches system, and a new feature that allows players to change their character’s face in the Base of Operations.
Finally, update 1.7 includes new Encrypted Caches. These new boxes are obtained from the Premium Vendor and contain unique appearance items, emotes and skins. Cipher Keys are needed to open Encrypted Caches, which can either be obtained with real money or by finding 10 key fragments in the game world.

Update 1.7 is coming to Tom Clancy’s The Division tomorrow, and ahead of its release, Ubisoft has broken down everything players can expect to find in this latest free expansion.
Probably the biggest addition waiting for Division agents will be Global Events, a dual set of modifiers that can impact all PvE content (including DLC expansions) while offering some special rewards. With the Global modifiers, the game’s entire map can be affected while the event is running, changing things such as damage levels, giving unique properties to certain kinds of enemy kills, and more. The first of these events will be Outbreak, which will be tied to the pandemic that caused the fall of New York in the first place. Activity modifiers, meanwhile, can be activated on specific missions and Incurious to increase difficulty while boosting loot, and they can be stacked on top of the Global modifiers while those are active.

[YT]GO8IfR3UChM[/YT]

During Global Events, players will be able to collect new Classified Gear sets, reworkings of previous sets which offer better primary stat roles, additional recalibration options, and new five- or six-piece bonuses. Completing Global Events can also give players some fun vanity options as well, thanks to a new set of face masks. Speaking of showing off, Commendations can now reward agents with arm patches that’ll proudly display a player’s accomplishments, and in a move that I’ve been asking for for over a year now, agent hair styles and glasses can finally be changed.
Lastly, Update 1.7 will be bringing Encrypted Caches with it. These special loot boxes will hold exclusive emotes, outfits, and skins, and can either be opened by assembling key fragments gained by completing commendations or killing named bosses, or through cypher keys purchased with premium credits.
Check out the trailer above for a deeper look at Tom Clancy’s The DivisionUpdate 1.7, which hits tomorrow on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Division visits an aircraft carrier for Update 1.8

August 30,2017 5 comments

Curious where you might travel to next in The Division’s post-apocalyptic New York City? Since the whole game is “tourists with guns” anyway, why not visit the aircraft carrier Intrepid, which is now a floating museum-slash-video game level?

Ubisoft revealed the details behind its upcoming Resistance update today, informing players that they will be visiting a new zone called West Side Pier. Read more

The Division is rolling out patch 1.8 for console testing

http://massivelyop.com/2017/10/10/t...g-out-patch-1-8-for-console-testing/#comments

Console players eager to test out the next addition to The Division are finally getting the chance to do so… in small numbers.
