Theres supposed to be some UFC related announcement on Espnews the Hotlist. So if you get Espnews, check out the Hotlist tonight. Wonder what it could be.

^ Interesting. I'm thinking it has to do something with Shogun, or maybe some new signing of some more fighters.

well it wasnt anything interesting. I guess the announcement was the Cro Cop will be fighting Chiek Kongo at UFC 75, which a lot of people already knew. No mention of Fedor or Shogun. Dana was asked about pride fighters, and he said those guys need to start getting fights, so I guess that means the UFC will start trying to make fights for them.

^ Yeah, thats no big news that Cro Cop is fighting Kongo. Thats old news.

But Fedor and Shogun and others need to start getting in the cage and whooping some you know what. Hopefully soon.

Yea, I'd love to see those guys fighting in the cage soon. I'm sick of rumors though, I wish something about these guys would be offially announced.

Just read that Keith Jardine is fighting Allistair Overeem in september. I guess Jardine told some fans about it. I have to imagine that Overeem will take this one.

Shogun closed to a deal with UFC

Mauricio Shogun is really closed to sign the contract with UFC. With his brother, Murilo Ninja, who gave the first american belt to Chute Boxe, Shogun get the chance to fix his future in th US. "I had meetings with a lot of events and talked to White personally. We lost some bucks in the casino (laughs). I believe next week we are going to set this fight for september", told Shogun

However his work is already recognized by the japanese audience, the CB fighter knows that he has a hard path to take in the USA and he prefer to not choose the oponnent. "UFC is a new event for me. In the US people don't know me. I can't choose the oponnent and i hope to earn the respect of the american audience, like i did in Japan." said Shogun. About the rumors of a possible injury, Shogun calm down the fans. "I injuried my knee training. I went to the doctor, but it was not a big deal. And he said that i can train normally", he ended.

^ Thanks. Thats good news. I can't wait. I hope he fights someone good.

I think Silva is going to keep his title. I see Franklin taking it back. I see Sherk keeping his title too, but Franca will put up a fight, I see that one going to the judges. I think Tito will win against Evans, by KO or TKO. That fight will probably end in the second round. I see Minotauro winning his debut too, probably by submission. I hope they annouce Shogun though. That would be a truly 'Stacked' UFC event. You?

I already picked Marquardt for the upset, so I'm sticking with it. I'm not that sure about it though, but I do know that if Silva fights the way he did against Lutter, he will lose. I orignally thought that Sherk/Franca would go to decision, but Franca usually has bad cardio, and I think he will gas and Sherk will be fresh enough to take advantage. And I picked Evans by decision. But I'm usually pretty bad at picking fights, so I wouldnt be surpised if I was wrong on all of them.

Wanderlei Silva is on my myspace friends list, and he made a bulletin saying his fight with Chuck is still in negotiations. So sounds like its happening, hopefully.

Overall I thought it was a good card.

I think Herring should have had the fight by referee stoppage. A very lackluster debut for Nogueira.

Shrek/Franca went how I expected. Shrek is just a dominant wrestler.

Ortiz/Evans was interesting. It was probably the guillotine at the end of the second round that evened up the score card as I had the round very even until then. I wonder who will take on Rampage after his fight with Henderson as I was picking Evans to win this fight and become the number one contender.

Anderson Silva is a beast in the UFC. Although he has a black belt in bjj it doesn't show as he gets taken down. He was really risking it with that flying kick, but he it willing to just put his opponent in the guard and work from there. I don't see Franklin taking back the title.

Well I was really unimpressed with the card. Big Nog didnt even show much of his jujitsu in his fight. Sherk looked great, except he couldnt finish. Ortiz/Evans wasnt that great, and I dont really want to see a rematch. I would rather see Ortiz get the crapped kicked out of him by Shogun.

Man I suck at picking fights.

What was up with the crowd? Yea some of the fights were kind of boring, but they were constantly booing for no reason.

I thought it was a poor as well.

Ortiz is such a dick and he appeared desperate for adulation and acceptance in the after fight interview. :(

Dang, I my guesses were almost all right! I knew Sherk was going to keep his title by judges decision. That Ortiz/Evans fight was surprising, I didn't see that coming. Silva, I knew he was winning.

Yea, I knew your picks were pretty close. It was in the back of my mind after each fight.

Kenny Florian looked real good too.

Good news about Fedor

The champ is coming
Pride heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko has been rumored to be entering the UFC for a quite a few months now. White confirmed that Emelianenko's debut is imminent.

"We are planning to have Fedor fighting in the UFC at the end of 2007 or early 2008," White said.

^ Hell yeah, thanks for the news man. This is going to be great! I wonder who's going to fight him?

I don't know about you guys but the last couple of tito fight have really dissapointed me!

Well I'm still waiting to hear something official, but I'm pretty sure we'll see him in the cage before to long. I think he'll get a title shot for his first fight. So either Couture or Gonzaga.

Yea, I'm definetly sick of Ortiz. I dont think he's as good as he used to be, I just want to see him get beat up.

This had to be one of the worst overall UFC yet. Sean Sherk is an animal. Where does Kenny Florian get off running his mouth? He better hit the juice if he thinks he stands a chance against Sherk. Silva looked great also.
