Shogun's already got a good career going for him, he just needs to get it back on track is all. He's beaten some of the world's best already in Rampage, Overeem, Arona, and Little Nog. This is only the second time he's ever been stopped in 18 MMA fights (first was to Babalu in the IFC tourny).
I've seen damn near all of his fights, and this was the first one in which I've ever seen him come out so out of shape cardio-wise. He's usually the one pushing the pace and forcing his opponent to falter, but it was completely the opposite this past weekend.
I don't know if he just took Forrest too lightly or what, but he definitely needs to go back and rework his cardio plan and get back to his old self.
Not to take anything away from Forrest, because he did a damn good job gameplanning and was able to outlast Rua. But if Shogun actually prepared himself better cardio-wise, I don't think Forrest would've won it.

I dunno... it just amazes me how many PRIDE fighters have lost in UFC fights.
