Faber's got a lot of skill, but who knows how he'll look after the weight cut? Sometimes guys moving down a weight class have to adjust a bit before feeling comfortable, and Mizugaki is no joke. Mizugaki would give anyone trouble at 135, and he may have the advantage with Faber coming off and injury and moving down in weight.

I hope that Faber wins though so they could set up a bantamweight and featherweight TUF with Faber and Cruz/Torres.

I assume is me.. ?

I don't quite get it is being Nate Marquardt a good or bad thing..

I thought you had brackets over your name. Nothing wrong with Nate btw. He's an elite guy at 185 after all.

LOL Nick Diaz!!!! I am quite the character. *puff puff*

PRIDE was definatly more entertaining & in some respects alot more brutal what with the stomps, knees & soccer kicks.

I still don't understand how they allowed someone to be hit a boot in the face/head while grounded.. but an elbow to the face/head was illegal.

I don't know about anyone else but I'd rather have taken a Jon Jones style elbow to the head than a Shogun style stomp or soccer kick to the head.

Yeah, i've never understood the logic in that either.....

Last nights UF was cool. The blonde kid (can't think of his name) must have awesome back control, the way he can stay on someone's back and sink in the rear naked choke, time after time.....

Yea I like Nate, hes elite as you said & a badass.. just like me. :cwink:

I just watched the main event, Faber viciously choked out Mizugaki via rear-naked choke.

Insanely late stoppage by Rosenthal, very very poor job refereeing.

I though Mizugaki was dead.

My damn DVR cut off right when Faber was sinking in the choke, so I had to wait just now to watch the finish. That **** was brutal. Looks like Faber still has it at 135.

The event was great overall too. The fights with Page/ Mighty Mouse and Mackens/Swanson fight were some serious contenders for fight of the year.

Tito Ortiz vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on tap for March 2011, possibly UFC 128

DUSSELDORF, Germany – Light heavyweight Tito Ortiz (15-8-1 MMA, 14-8-1 UFC) still has a job in the UFC.

In fact, he's got a big job coming up in March, according to UFC president Dana White.

White today confirmed that "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" meets Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in March 2011, possibly at UFC 128.

UFC U.K. president Marshall Zelaznik on Thursday told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that a potential March event, UFC 128, could take place in the United Arab Emirates, possibly in Abu Dhabi, thought other cities also are under consideration.

"I know there's been talk of March 19 potentially happening," Zelaznik said. "While we're looking at delivering a pay-per-view (event) around that time, nothing's been defined in terms of whether Abu Dhabi gets it or someone else."

White did not specify a date for Ortiz vs. Nogueira.

Following a recent UFC 121 decision loss to Matt Hamill, Ortiz faced an uncertain future in the UFC. The former champ and "The Ultimate Fighter 3" coach is now winless (0-4-1) in his past five fights, and he hasn't posted a win in more than four years (Ken Shamrock in October 2006). However, the fights have come against some of the division's top fighters, including Chuck Liddell, Rashad Evans (draw), Lyoto Machida, Forrest Griffin and Hamill.

Nogueira, the twin brother of former UFC champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, recent suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Ryan Bader in a key UFC 119 bout. Prior to the defeat, the PRIDE vet owned a seven-fight win streak, which included UFC wins over Luiz Cane (which earned a "KO of the Night" bonus) and Jason Brilz ("Fight of the Night").

Tito, go away

lol, agreed.

Two of the world’s premier middleweights are one step closer to potential bloodshed.

Nate Marquardt tipped the scales at 186 pounds in advance of his showdown with Yushin Okami (185) in the UFC 122 “Marquardt vs. Okami” main event on Saturday at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The eight other men populating the main card, including co-headliners Jorge Rivera (185) and Alessio Sakara (186), also met their mandated weight requirements at Friday’s official weigh-in.

Rooted at the Grudge Training Center, a Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts affiliate, Marquardt last appeared at UFC Fight Night 22 in September, when he stopped Brazilian leglock specialist Rousimar Palhares on first-round punches at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. A violent finisher, the 31-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has secured 23 of his 30 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Marquardt, a former middleweight King of Pancrase, owns notable wins over 2006 Pride Fighting Championships welterweight grand prix winner Kazuo Misaki, Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts representative Martin Kampmann and 2007 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships winner Demian Maia.

Okami owns an impressive 9-2 mark inside the UFC and has rattled off consecutive wins since his unanimous decision defeat to Chael Sonnen at UFC 104 in October 2009. The 29-year-old Japanese standout has not competed since he earned a split nod over Mark Munoz at UFC Live 2 in August. Victories against American Kickboxing Academy stalwart Mike Swick, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 3 semi-finalist Kalib Starnes, Duke Roufus protégé Alan Belcher and 2003 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships absolute division winner Dean Lister anchor Okami’s resume. In 30 professional appearances, he has been finished only once.

UFC 122 -- which Spike TV will air via same-day tape delay at 9 p.m. ET -- will also feature a light heavyweight duel pitting “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 8 semi-finalist Krzysztof Soszynski (206) against Croatian export Goran Reljic (205), a welterweight tilt pairing “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7 winner Amir Sadollah (170) with Peter Sobotta (169) and a lightweight matchup between Dennis Siver (155) and “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 finalist Andre Winner (155).

UFC 122 “Marquardt vs. Okami” picks!

Nate Marquardt (186) vs. Yushin Okami (185)
Alessio Sakara (186) vs. Jorge Rivera (185)
Krzysztof Soszynski (206) vs. Goran Reljic (205)
Amir Sadollah (170) vs. Peter Sobotta (169)
Dennis Siver (155) vs. Andre Winner (155)
Vladimir Matyushenko (205) vs. Alexandre Ferreira (204)
Rob Kimmons (184) vs. Kyle Noke (185)
Karlos Vemola (205) vs. Seth Petruzelli (205)
Duane Ludwig (170) vs. Nick Osipczak (171)
Kris McCray (171) vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (170)
Pascal Krauss (170) vs. Mark Scanlon (170)

Nog has been unimpressive since his arrival in the UFC.. he should have been 1-2 had it not been for a ******** decision against Brilz.

If he fights Tito the loser should be cut.. but in essence, there will be no winners as the fight would have no benifit to either fighter in relation to the title & serves no purpose other than to get a win under there belt.

I'd like to see Belfort beat Silva, but I'd also really enjoy a Silva-Okami match.

I was 9/10 on my picks for 122 :D

UFC 122 turned out pretty good, thus proving that the cards that don't look so stellar end up being good most of the time. If Belfort beats Silva I think Okami will become champ, but if Anderson keeps the belt he'll put on a brutal beating on Okami. He's supposedly pissed at that missed opportunity.

Grudge matches are always fun.

So...anyone else think Rampage is going to lose this Saturday? It just looks like he's going through a 'no serious' phase right now.

Rampage really gets on my nerves with all the 'barking' and crap he does before the match.

I mean I know you gotta get psyched up and whatnot, but PLEASE....
