The razor-sharp wing darts were awesome, though.

And in the Ultimate universe, Archangel could be totally demonic and freaky looking and really dice people.

But horsemen of the Apocolypse is inevitable - it's in the bible, in all sorts of stories and OBVIOUSLY in 616 which they will recycle here.

pure genius el bastardo... and to be honest it is the truth.. it really is Kirkman recycling over and over - i hope things change once kirkman departs - but it is unlikely. I'm expecting more of the same..

Apocalypse will always have horsemen. It's the cliche that's spirited into character. "Horsemen of the Apocalypse" is a term for a reason, after all.

It could be done in different ways, but Kirkman will just rehash the 616 into the Ultimate. I fully expect to see Archangel. If I don't, I'll be surprised and praise Kirkman.

It's a staple, and rightfully so - that doesn't make it overdone. It's stupid to have an enemy named Apocalypse with no horsemen. It'd be like a villain named Danny Tanner without an Uncle Jesse, seriously.

The horsemen here aren't really the problem. The problem is that the 616, in such a huge amount, has been rehashed and recycled with mundane and inane changes made. The debut of Ultimate Apocalypse and his horsemen could have been tremendously awesome. The horsemen could have been really well done. They won't be.

Of course they won't. They'll just be ridiculously more annoying copies for past 616 horsemen.

This is really all or nothing for Kirkman. Well at least some or nothing. His last chance to prove that he's capable of writing a good X-men story. I was kind of pleasently surprised when Apocalypse turned out to be Sinister. It's going to be interesting to see where Kirkman takes this.

I really CAN'T figure out where all the hate for Kirkman stems from.

Some of the art was repulsive but I felt the dialogue was good. I liked the story. I liked the new characters.

and before that arc, when was the last time you read teh book?

I didn't really have any problem with Paquette's art. But it's not that all the dialogue is bad, but enough of it is horrendous, mind-numbing, and embarrassing for a professional writer.

As for the plotting and storyline, it's just mindless rehash. And it's too much mindless rehash. With poor executions. With the right execution, I could have probably dealt with any one or two of the myriad of things going on. But not the entire myriad.

I also was okay with Paquette's art... aside from the fact that all his characters has the same face, but different haircuts.

Kirkman's writing is usually alright (except for the "I'll just say what happened so my stupid readers can't misinterpret it")... it's his ideas that suck.

The Sentinels arc is not terrible, but it's not great. And the pacing made me want to be sick! He jumped back and forth so much I thought the TPB had been assembled improperly.

I've got that tpb and I've yet to read it, I've flicked through it and seen some of the worst art ever. It seems to get better later on but some of the stuff near the start is god damned ugly.

This is easily the best issue of UXM Kirkman has ever written IMO; hopefully the whole arc goes this way

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the most likely choice of Angel as a horseman. Can we get some new ones por favor?

I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't put two and two together at first - that is, Angel's death, and Ultimate Archangel. It took a few minutes after closing the issue.

I was more irked at the idiocy of the death, which, I guess, is still related.
