yeah, that would be a nice shakeup. i think a lot of people want to see more of that team. i just hope they don't bring any scott/emma into ultimate. i love them in 616, but it'd just be bad news here.

Agreed, it'd be waay too predictable.

Well...
Ultimate Cable in Wolverine from the future come back to kill Prof. X for something in the future.
Can anyone else describe for him in more detail?
Okay, thanks. Which issue does these start?

Well, according to Marvel March Solicits (Spoiler Alert!):

ULTXMEN080_cov.jpg

The Story: “AFTERMATH”
The young X-Men are leaderless. And in the wake of their tragedy, Scott Summers reaches a momentous decision: Disband the X-Men! Yes, you read it right. Is this the end of Xavier’s dream? And if so, what does this mean for the evil mutants who may rush in to fill the power vacuum? It all begins to unravel…
PART 2 {of 2)

So the one who dies is Prof. X and not Scott

How idiotic, to give away such a big spoiler like that when the Cable arc isn't even complete. Marvel is really starting to get me ticked.

I HATE when they do that. Why build up suspense and hav a mystery only to ruin it all in hte solicts?

In that it says
The young X-men are leaderless
Could this be a rise for
a younger X-men to take the lead?

no I think its pretty obvious that their leader, Profesor X is dead. The only other leader is Cyclops and he's clearly mentioned

Scott Summers reaches a momentous decision: Disband the X-Men!

Pfft, doubt it. It's like some of the people at Marvel don't even read these boards or any of the million others that keep saying "FIRE KIRKMAN!" I'd tell you one thing, if I were they editor-in-cheif and Kirkman produced this kind of crap to me, heads would roll!

Sorry for my ranting.

Well..

I'm happy to see that cyke lives. yay.. I just hope this isn't some kind of ploy to shake everything up.. You don't see him mentioned by full name very often... Oh well, I don't think that marvel would be that great to make up a short little blurb like that to shake things up... But I do think that a reason that could be given for disbanding the team is the simple thing that Xavier got killed, the world really doesn't seem to be against the mutants too much lately, kitty is probably going to leave... And on the bright side, it may open up the can of worms that was an escaping magneto and longshot.

Cyke disbanding the team after the death of Xavier is no big surprise. He could barely keep them sane and together, let alone functional. Another sad sad que they took from the movies. Also looking at how miserable Rogue, Kitty, and Ororo are, there's no way this team is going to stick together. Bobby and Peter have no reason to leave but looking at the "immense" amount of story they have had, they have no reason to stay.

So technically, I doubt if Cyke actually disbands them. I think they must all leave on their own. Jeeze. :o

but really how many issues would that last?

All I can say about today's ending is BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!:cmad:
That has to be one of the worst twists I've ever read. It's just...wrong! Ew! No! How f**ked up is that?! I hope he really does die just so this subject doesn't have to be delt with for too long.

Ironically enough, the rest of the issue was gold. Glad they changed the artist....Or was it the colorist?...Something changed.

Y'know, I haven't visited the Hype in quite awhile, and I've been behind on my comic reading, too. Finals are the blah, so is work in general. So, of course, the one issue I decide to read today is Cable Part 3, because... well, it has to get better, right?

Yeah, and people wonder why I've given up on optimism.

This issue had me going, and I was buying the Cable-Wolverine thing, finally. All I have to say about the end of the issue is: *smashes his head against his desk over and over*

Oh, and revealing that spoiler in their solicits is, again, the great Marvel Machine at its best. Way to go, Joe Q.

Co-muthfuggin'-sign. Not knocking the guy(I'm sure he is a fabulous writer) but DAYUM that ending was pure "OH NOEZ ZOMG WTF".
Professor X is in love with Jean too? Poor Cyke(and Jean) can't catch a break.
:cyclops:

i can honestly say i did not see that coming

....wow to that ending

Also, listen carefully for all future Colossus fights: THE MAN BEAT UP THOR AND IRON-MAN, how is Grizzly giving him trouble? AAaaarrgh

The thing with Rogue's arm was nuts too.

The Rogue thing was crazy sweet.

Gross to the ending. :o

Why The brought up the dead Love triangle of Logan/jean/Cyclops already why not Emmott, they should give it a shot....and the professor X love is their...Emott has some breathing room and that would cause a little rift between X and Cyke...thatn would be fun

Everybody wants a piece of that, geez. You really have to feel for the old boy now.
