I'm pretty new to Ultimate X-Men and would like to know what 'arcs' are the best. As of now, I have/own the 1st arc (Tomorrow People) and the 8th arc (New Mutants) and have found them pretty good. Is the Magnetic North arc worth checking out? Does anyone know when Bryan Singer's run is supposed to start?

It's not really an arc, but read Ultimate War....it's ridiculous. Oh, and the Proteus arc(the name escapes me)

Ultimate War followed by Return of The King. Aaaawesome stuff.

ive said this before and i'll say it again- cry wolf- i thought that was awesome- especially the focus on rogue- but really her disappearance brought a lot out of the others expecially wolverine- i think everyone got a character moment.

Man, maybe if we don't talk about it, it'll just go away. Hey, maybe that'll work with Kirkman too. :ninja:

If just wishing a writer away worked, we would have had JMS off of Spider-Man long ago. :cmad:

He writes Amazing.

His Cival War story has been good so far.

But because of him, we have: The Book of Ezekiel, The Other, Sins Past, Sins Remembered, Crap, Crap, and more Crap. :cmad:

I'm really perturbed that Bishop may just be the spawn of Rolo in Kirkman's hands. :( [/BLACKOUT]

That man stinks.

Bloody hell, its like a scene from a soap opera.

Character A: (says something shocking)
Character B: (Raises his eyebrows in skepticism or shock as it cuts to commercial)

Yeah, definitely.

Anyway, I usually don't read the comics but wait for the TPBs. Tonight I was at the mall, doing Christmas shopping and passed the comic shop. I haven't touched any of Kirkman's run yet, however I decided to pick up the back issues and go to town.

I've always enjoyed Ultimate X-men, Millar did it brilliantly, I felt with Vaughn's run it was becoming a bit too crowded with too many loose ends and characters running around (Especially Emma's school) and it seemed every issue just introduced a new "Ultimatized" flavor of the month character.

I remember when Kirkman came on he promised not to just do the entire "Ultimatized flavor of the month thing"...but it is exactly what he is doing. First The Shi'ar and Lilandra, then Cable, now it seems Madelyn Pryor and Bishop.

I don't even know what the hell to make of The Magician? Pretty ****ty character, I'd say. He was entirely useless, overpowered, and the entire arc was retconned in the end it seems.

And don't even get me started on what he did with Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler was uneasy about Colossus (likely because of his religious background) but Kirkman turned him into a homophobe, obsessive, nut job. What the hell? Really? And towards DAZZLER of all people?

This Professor inlove with Jean thing is the final nail. Millar or Vaughn needs to come back and pull a Dallas, it was all a dream type scenario. Maybe make the professor's son still be alive and just toying with reality? Someone finds out and makes all right with the world? Sure, it would be a cheap answer but it is better than sticking with what Kirkman made.

where does ultimate war fit in in the ultimate x-men arcs?

Is it just me or does Xavier only have three pieces of clothing: brown suit, black suit, grey suit?

Isn't that always the case? Movies, brown suit, black suit, grey suit maybe the odd navy suit. Cartoons brown suit. 616 Movies, brown suit, black suit, grey suit maybe the odd navy suit. Ultimate Movies, brown suit, black suit, grey suit maybe the odd navy suit.

I think we see the point.

Bahahaaaaaaa... Matt (above) said all the same things about Kirkman and this run that I've been saying since reading through the first Kirkman issues (good lord, Date Night was GOOD compared to this last ending). That amuses me immensely, as might be told by my opening word-sound(!), but also alarms me, for his name is my name too.

Mayhaps we are two sides of the same coin... Two flavors of the same twisty ice cream cone. Good sir, be out of my head! Shoo! Wait! I HAVE it. We are two heads of the same Syndicate! Wheeeeeee.

Jeez!!! What issue is this? My god, I just want Scott to kill Professor X right now! Hes like 50 years old and Jean is like 20! EWW!!

I was wondering when they'd ultimize that. Lord knows it fits better than in Ultimate than it ever did in 616.
