the 'world tour' arc

she was possessed and killed by proteus but if i remember correctly we later find out her consiousness inhabits the body of a coma victim a lot like xavier in x3

Her last appearance was at the end of The Return of the King arc in Ult X-men 32. This is her in her Kwannon body

Im really surprised she hasnt shown up since then

Thanks guys :woot:I'm really surprised I missed that

...since when do Psylocke's eyes do that? That's just silly.

It also has nothing to do with Psylocke if I recall. It's that chick that she possessed eyes'.

They're just willy-nilly doing some crazy physical changes then. Stupid Ult-universe.

Next thing you know Gambit is gonna be running around with a perm...

Oh.

Wait.

Damn...

Then stop reading the ultimate universe. I use to hear this all the time in my old comic shop, people getting all mad because a certain character acts different. Its a different universe, not that hard to understand.:yay:

There's a difference between "different" and "bad". For example, Gambit from issues 13 and 14 was different, but a great take on the character. Gambit from Vaughan's was just bad. The personality was a caricature of 616 Gambit and the look was just ridiculous.

I think thats the problem with the Ultimate titles, some writers just get it, its not 616, different vision, etc and their arcs are amazing. While others just see it as a we to re-tell 616 stories and revisit classic 616 situations. Which is nice at first, but gets old fast.

IMO I thought BKV's Ultimate X-Men was the best. Although I am a BKV ****e.

I completely agree. BKV was by far my favorite writer on this title. Id kill to have him back

Ill hope that they havnt forgot about Psylocke, hope shell be part of the new team. Or maybe becuse shes part of shield, maybe shes best suited for Ultimates?

Picked up #81 today partly out of curiosity and partly because I couldn't not buy it. Surprise, I liked it better than the previous issues.

I always thought Nightcrawler would make a good Morlocks leader. I guess Ult. X-Men is just a re-working of canon X-Men. Except in Ult. X-Men Beast is how he should look, and hopefully he'll be part of the new team.

Creating an entirely new universe to just re-work and redo old characters and plotlines is stupid. Most of these characters are great in the first place, and taking them out of context and tweaking things only makes them worse.

If you're going to change a character, do it in a BIG way, not some small way like Psylocke's eyes and not explain it at all.

Earlier Gambit in Ult! was great. Loved him. All street thief but with a heart of...silver-ish quality. Had the same archtype look to him, so fans of MU would recognize him.

Then, later Gambit SUCKED ASS, and I was partly glad he died so I wouldn't be faced with that BS anymore.

It's not just a certain character, they're going in and changing alot of characters and NONE of them for the better. Rogue has become virtual EYE CANDY on Iceman's arm. That's BS. She started out great! A twist on her MU character, but in a good way! Still basically Rogue but tweaked.

Then...this travesty of a character appeared and it nauseates me.

Look at Nightcrawler! They've twisted his character BEYOND recognition. If he wasn't still blue and had a tail, we'd never recognize him. THAT is BS.

Wolverine is BULL**** in Ultimate. *****-whipped by Jean? PUH-LEASE. I hate Wolverine, but even I can hate the way his character has gone.

You're right, the thing with Nightcrawler does takes the cake. I don't really care that they made him go bat***** for awhile. But trying to put him into the morlocks storyline after he went through a trauma is eerily similar to Storm losing her powers and then later becoming the leader of the morlocks.

I feel that at times the title writers experiment with an idea but it looks like they give up half-way through and the conclusion leaves much to be desired. I still don't see the purpose of the "Magic" arc. I hope Kirkman has a definite direction for this title because this is the perfect time to "fix" things.

Just for clarification, Storm was in full possession of her powers when she initially fought and beat Callisto for leadership of the Morlocks. It was soon thereafter, that she cut her hair and changed her look, and then a little later that she lost her powers.

Well I guess I'm one of the few people that likes the changes made to most of the Ultimate versions of 616 characters; with the exception of Cable, Iceman, Rogue, and Storm.

I wanted different and I'm getting different.

Now see, I like change. The Nightcrawler thing was something completely new and refreshing. It came out of left field, which is really more what I expect to see in an alternate universe.

I agree that Gambit was fouled up. But, as you pointed out, he was fouled up because they changed him from one appearance to the next for some baffling reason. That wouldn't make sense in any universe.

As for the looks thing? I personally am not bothered... Hell, based on what artist you get the characters never look like they were originally imagined.

Overall, I'm horribly disappointed with Ultimate, and don't really touch it anymore. But I'm disappointed because I don't think they were original enough. We got a lot of re-hashed story lines and character interactions rather than new ideas.
