IIRC, Rogue lost Gambit's powers in the second annual. Not sure if that question had ever been fully answered above.

And I don't have a problem with ultra-powerful enemies, but if you don't throw a weakness in there what's the point? Proteus was a reality-warper, too. But he burned up whatever body he was using, and that weakness was what brought him down because by the time he learned to control his powers he had to contend with Betsy fighting him for control.

Magician had none of these drawbacks. He just got instant control of his powers, with no limitations. As a character he's a dead-end and should never be brought back.

actually he didnt control his powers. if you read his explanation to kitty, he saw the x-men on tv and his powers subcosiously started the whole thing with out him really knowing. so he isnt really in control of them

Sorry, bad wording.

They make his dreams come true. About as good as true control as you could get, wouldn't you say? Whatever he wants, he gets. That doesn't exactly leave a whole lot of room to beat him. As a good guy, he'd be terribly dull. All he'd have to do is wish for everyone to love mutants, and for all violence to end...

Whoa, wait. Why the heck hasn't that happened anyway? I guess Magician secretly wanted Xavier to disappear and the X-Men to break up. :woot:

*loved the Proteus arc*

Oh, I loved World Tour as well. And not just because it's where Scott and Jean finally got together. :oldrazz:

I loved the early arcs by Millar, but I hated how the art would fluctuate from one issue to the next. That's the one thing I wasn't too thrilled about for most of the World Tour arc. I loved either of the Kuberts' art, but whoever took over after the first issue or two just wasn't my type of artist. Same goes for whoever did the issue where Cyke and Logan go to the Savage Land.

I think Ult Angel could become just as good...he's still a young character and therefore unsure of himself and pretty immature.

Could happen, but would seem forced in a 'let's fix this mess' capacity.

And why on Earth did you quote ME?? :woot:

Ah. Was wondering, lol, since that very post had very little 'Ult Angel sucks' material in it.

Well, I was moreso looking at the fact that it said that Havok loves 616 Angel, and I think that Ult Angel could become just as loveable

Haha well, I really don't think he needs redeeming. He just needs to mature as a person.

but his powers seem to give it to him regardless of the way he wants to have it. he would be to powerful, but i say just make him only use some of his powers as part of his training. then that would even it out a lil more

What is the current arc called? What should I be looking out for after Cable?

The Current arc of Ultimate Xmen is The Underneath. And it follows cable but I believe there was a one shot issue #80 to sum up the cable run before the Underneath arc started.

Ultimate X-Men #84 will arrive in stores on July 11 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Robert Kirkman, with art and cover by Yanick Paquette.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"The X-Men are no more. Long live the X-Men! The man from the future, Bishop, completes his own team of mutants, ready to carry on the legacy of Charles Xavier. And their first task is to stop the attacks of the deadly Sentinels against their kind. And you¹ll never guess who's behind the attacksŠ or who the new Ultimate X-Men are!"

Ultimate X-Men #84 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

My guess... Magneto is behind the attacks. I just hope I'm wrong.
