oh ok...huh?
think of it as his inner demon literally come to life, and whatever good the Sentry does the Void retaliates with an equal act of evil. if he saves the Golden Gate Bridge from collapsing, the Void will destroy a building full of people. if the Sentry stops a ruptured dam from flooding a town, the Void causes a volcano to destroy part of Hawaii. so the man with the power of a million exploding suns is terrified of what would happen if he actually used it in fear of how the Void would return his acts of heroism.

No Sentry is lame. Its lamer that they brought some aspect of him over to this book. At least we dont have to deal with cameos from him

I like Sentry a lot and the Void being in the X-Men could be cool as long as it doesn't go on too long and Scott doesn't do anything dumb now.

good lord how many times did it really needed to be mentioned that Emma has omega class powers in the last issue? Fraction went a bit over board here

I hate Sentry. Superman needs to come into the MU and beat that punk down.

^I want Batman.

I've been wondering, is the Phoenix Force a lesbian force? Why does it always go to women, when there's Xavier around?

Too late. Xavier already had the Phoenix Force way back in the 80s. It was temporary and he was referred to as Bald Phoenix

Bald Phoenix...?

That's so embarrasing.

Thanks for the information.

The Sentry just needs to turn into the Void fulltime. He's a lame superhero, but he'd make an awesome villain.

I think Fraction's slacking on X-Men, because of all the other stuff he's writing. The majority of it being better than his X-Men work too. In my opinion, both he and Carey need to be let go of the X Books. They do decent, but medicore work and it's time for some fresh blood on the Uncanny and Legacy.

Jeff Parker and Paul Cornell. :woot:

Does a primal cosmic force even have a gender? I recall a scene of the White Hot Room (I think in the X-Men The End series or something else around that time? Think brain, think!!!), where they showed all the beings that the Phoenix had ever inhabited and there definitely were quite a few dudes in there.

Here Comes the Tomorrow showed several male Phoenixes as well. Kid Omega was one

After the shock Havok83 revealed to me, I think I'll stop complaining PF taking over female hosts.

Rachel Summers' current on-again/off-again alien boyfriend Korvus was a partial host to the Phoenix Force like she was. He inherited the ability to tap into the Phoenix Force from his grandfather, a Phoenix host named Rook'shir.

So there's another 2 male Phoenixes.

But it was heavily implied that Korvus was the only one who could use the sword. The Shi'ar Empire kept him alive and gave him the sword during Rise & Fall specifically because he was the descendant of Rook'shir. The sword was light whenever he held it, and he knew how to use it instinctively despite never having held it before. Basically, the Phoenix Sword (or whatever it was called) recognized him as its rightful bearer. That's close enough to being a Phoenix host.

As for Rook'shir himself, I think they said he was a Phoenix host who channeled his power through his sword, likely in the same way Jean and Rachel channel their power through their telepathy & telekinesis. After Rook'shir's death, the sword only contained what Rachel said was a "shadow" of the Phoenix Force.

By the way, something I feel like I haven't said all year: I hate alien names in sci-fi that use apostrophes.

Phoenix force and the greys confuse the hell out of me.. Now with hope on the sceen.

The original concept of the Phoenix was an interesting one...the confusion comes from people adding to the story
