I dunno, I always felt like X-man and Franklin Richards were the two most powerful mutants in the world (not counting Phoenix).

I think Vulcan would come in a close third. But it would be an awesome fight...

Powers aside, Vulcan had virtually no experience when we first saw him, yet he's been pretty much unstioppable. Thats one thing that bothered me. You can have all the power in the world, but you need the skill and experience to use it. He had none, yet he was written as this unstoppable force that took down everyone in his path

did they say how long he was with Xavier and Moira before going to Krakoa?

a few weeks. Xavier implanted memories into them that stimulated months of actual training. Then Vulcan went dormant for years until we saw him in DG

I think X-Man would tear Vulcan to pieces. His one of the most powerful mutants ever.

Vulcan is written as the one of the most powerful also. Plus his power is to absorb and manipulate energy. Nate's TK may do nothing but make him stronger. He'd have to rely on his TP to take him on. Even then Vulcan has psionic abilities which give him a level of resistance from telepathic manipulations and assault

Couldn't Nate just rip him to pieces with his TK on a cellular level?

who knows. We'd have to see that in writing. Based on Vulcan's own abilities the TK directed at him would be something that he could absorb and manipulate. Whether Nate would actually have an affect could go either way

Oh... and X-Man vs. Vulcan....

Both of them rock! It'd be a cool battle but in the end, Vulcan would kick X-Man's butt, despite my liking X-Man better. His energy manipulation powers would get the better of X-Man I think.

Considering how easily Norman and the Dark X-Men beat Nate recently, I'd say Vulcan would KILL him.

On this week's issue, are we to assume Magneto died at the end?

Nate Grey is horrible and should never have been brought back. Cable is and always has been a much more complex and better character

Nothing created by Rob Liefeld is complex.

Cable and X-Man are both lame.

i highly doubt it. intensive care, critical condition, but im sure they wouldnt kill him off so soon after returning. anybody else think Scott requesting Cecilia Reyes was a little random? she hasnt been seen or heard from in like 5 years and Scott's just like "get me her cuz i know shes here".

It was completely out of the blue, but just seeing Cecelia back is enough to placate me :woot:

Colossus is going to be even more depressed. His sister is a freaky recluse and his woman is intangible :(

She's stuck in intangibility again? Didn't this happen, like, 20 years ago?

technically but on the other hand, one could say that Chris Claremont created Cable bc it was only when they made him Nate Summers that he started to become the complex great character that he is. Simply as a Liefeld cyborg, he was horrible

NO SNOO-SNOO for Colossus.

I'm sure Magneto will be fine back living like the X-Mens crazy uncle who lives in the attic in no time.

How did they fix Katzchen the last time she was stuck intangible? Because I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time.

I could be wrong but I dont think she ever fully recovered from that. When Claremont wrote her in Xtreme, I believe he said her natural state was phased and when she's tangible, its a conscious effort to make herself that rather than the other way around. I thought that was CC retconning back to his old work bc I dont recall any other writer throughout the 90s up until he got her again ever writing her as such

You know, Kitty is probably only stuck phased because she spent so much time trying to keep that bullet phased. I bet she's just using her powers unconsciously. Let Charles take a crack at her mind for a few minutes. I mean, he just fixed Rogue's powers.

Reed Richards restored her to tangibility last time after some fighting and indecision (he was doubting himself because he had been accused of getting his team caught in the solar storm that caused their powers deliberately). But Claremont wrote it so that the healing process would take a while, and that intangibility was now her natural state...bit of a pointless development if you ask me. I never read Excalibur but UXN says that it was included there a bit.

I'm pretty sure most writers ignore this. Only Claremont really follows it.

Claremont makes up a lot of rules for his characters that most other writers ignore.

*walks up to dead horse with a baseball bat*

Like when Claremont said that Rachel Summers is the only Rachel in the multiverse, despite the fact that we've already seen several.

Actually, she was seen last year in the NYX mini and in that she called Beast to ask for a favor, so we know she at least was having contact with the X-men. Besides Fraction brings on a new mutant every issue. Cant say Im upset with bringing her to the island bc her return to the X-men was long overdue. She should have been apart of the Science team from the getgo

Technically, Whedon acknowledged Kitty's constant phasing state in his run of Astonishing. Remember, she lost focus while having sex with Colossus and fell through the floor.
