All she would need is a hair dye. Don't know how well she can act though....

Evangeline Lilly on being Wonder Woman
Will we get to see you as Wonder Woman? I've never even spoken to anyone on the project. People have asked if I had one role I wanted to play, and I threw out Wonder Woman because she was my favorite superhero growing up.

You probably had the Underoos, right? I still have the little shorty shorts.

And you still dress up and pose in front of the mirror? Yeah, with my lasso. No, I'd love to play Wonder Woman beÂ*cause it's a kick-ass role. But the dilemma is whether I want to be part of something that big and commercial.

And Laura Elena Harring does NOT look like Lynda Carter. She looks more like what Lynda looks like now in her current age.

She's not my choice at all, but eliminating someone because they don't look like Lynda Carter is pretty much the dumbest thing imaginable. We want a Wonder Woman movie, not a Carter biopic. It's like when people *****ed about Superman candidates not looking like Christopher Reeve. We're casting a character, not a celebrity lookalike.

Also, the majority of the people they will be aiming this movie at will not have any kind of attachment to the WW tv show, so bringing Carter into this is kind of a useless point. I mean over the last couple years I've become a big WW fan through the comics, but I have never had the desire to sit through an entire episode of the old show. In my opinion, not casting someone because they look like Carter is like not casting Christian Bale as Batman because he doesn't look like Adam West.

Another idea: Monica Dean. She was on a recent episode of Lost. See this web site for information: http://www.monicadean.info/page.php?id=0

Great find!! Love the Monica Dean site. There are some amazing photos of her there that capture the essence and look of Wonder Woman. Although Morena Baccarin is my first choice, Monica is a very close second. And at 5'7", she is not that short and can look a lot taller with the right supporting cast and camera angles.

She's the one I want to see for Wonder Woman, even though theres a new rumor posted that Morena Baccarin was revealed to be Whedon's favorite choice. With Joel Silver wanting Jessica Alba or Kim Basinger.

Which are both a no to me......

Joel Silver is a dick, i want an unknown person i want to really think hay that's wonder woman not an actress playing wonder woman.

And that girl from SERENITY is perfect

Morena Baccarin of Serenity would really be the ideal candidate, IMO. She's definitely got a look which would do Wonder Woman proud, and is of relatively unknown status. She's pretty talented as well.

The best recent suggestion is Taylor Cole.

Baccarin is, as I said before, too girly.

And another great thing about Morena... she already has her foot in the DC Universe's door.... she is the voice of Black Canary in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon ....

I will even rephrase what I said before: Taylor Cole is perfect for the role.

She has the right age everyone is hammering about; she has talent; she has the right body and she has more than just a resemblance with WW: she has the exact looks.

I think that if Whedon is smart enough, he won't let pass this chance to make a perfect casting.

While I have made no secrets of my interest in Morena Baccarin for the role, I wouldn't be upset if Taylor Cole got it. She has expressed interest, and I think she'd do it justice.

My feeling for Morena is based on a multitude of factors with looks only being one aspect. I think she's a good actress, who could really make this role work well for her. I also think she's fortunate to have worked with Whedon, and is familiar with his style. Whedon likes her as an actress, and also she has a familiarity with the DC Universe having done the voice of Black Canary (quite well, too), and I think she would definitely bring the same stately elegance that she brought to Inara.

um... no! I think she is way to young for the version that Joss wants to create.... need someone that can come across as a strong woman that has learned from experience, all the hardships in life. Someone that was born in 1984 cannot portray that.

Where did that Wonder Woman symbil come from? I like it alot! Anyone have it?

For someone that keeps an eye on the ridiculousness of this thread, you seemed to have miss the major thing that Joss has made clear, which I have mentioned a couple of times. The actress he would like to portray Wonder Woman is someone that is relatively unknown. So, for her to have '7 BIT parts' in things is something that could work in her favor. She is not that well known. Not quite sure why people keep overlooking the 'relatively unknown' statement.

So if she was someone they were interested in for the part, she definitely would stand a better chance rather than some of the other well known actresses suggested here.

I do agree that she is beautiful and looks like she would fit the part perfectly, but I think that she resembles Lynda Carter a bit to much. And it would almost be like they are trying to recapture what Lynda brought to the part. I think that aspect works together. If they were going to match the look over the television character, then yea, she would be perfect. But I think they are going for a completely different look with this adaptation.

So I must defend the person that suggested her, against your remark. I just assume that you want some well known actress that everyone knows because she already played a strong leading female character, or even a strong female scifi or comic book character.....

Lynda Carters pre Wonder Woman resume consisted of TWO bit parts.

Actually I want someone that can act.

I will give you an example, Christian Bale in Batman Begins he could of been considered unknown by your definition, he wasn't hollywood by any means.

Evangeline Lilly has only acted in 7 mostly BIT parts appart from Lost, would you consider her unknown? I will tell you the difference between the girl above and Evangeline Lilly, we know Lilly can at least act.

And Evey isnt necesarily my pic either before you throw that card at this present time I dont see a definite but there are a few possibles.
