im liking Pyro's new look (at least from what i can see). and Vanisher isn't part of X-Force right? hes just "hired" help?
he seems to be part of the group. He's been included in the team roster in the opening summary page and I think the writers consider him one

i guess besides for transport, why would they want to keep around someone they cant trust and has abandoned them like 5 times already?

They put a tumour in his head and only Elixer can remove it or something like that. So he can't be doing anything funny.

yea but even so in the heat of battle he's abandoned them on several ocassions. just buy a stealth plane and get rid of him (they are X-Force after all).

Vanisher can't be the only teleporter they can use. Not Nightcrawler or Pixie, obviously. If Magik wasn't in the New Mutants, she'd probably make a decent addition to the team. She's already on edge and willing to dice up a mofo due to missing a chunk of her soul.

is new mutants any good? i bought the first issue to check it out (and i liked the cover :oldrazz:) but i havent followed it. i was never big on the new mutants so theres no nostalgia here.

It's pretty good so far. It looks like things about to get amped up. #3 ended with Magik going into Legion's mind and slicing up a few of his personalities.

I have found New Mutants a great read so far. Nice art, and well written. And like Manic said, it seems to be getting good. Love death and sword play.

whats Blink doing these days? would she have a problem with excessive violence?

Blink is from the Age of Apocalypse, so I doubt she'd have too many qualms. As for her whereabouts, she's still in the Exiles.

the same Exiles that were cancelled/broken up twice in the past year? id figure her schedule is pretty wide open.

She's the only consistent member of the Exiles (not count Claremont's run). If the Exiles are still presumably hopping across universes while the book is cancelled, she'll be with them.

Lila Cheney is still powered.

Yes, there's an effective teleporter if there ever was one.

"Lila, we need to get to New York!"
"Okay, but because my powers don't work at a range shorter than a few hundred million miles at a time, we'll first have to teleport to Alpha Centuri, and THEN to New York."

Nightcrawler isnt generally a group teleproter. His powers are alot more limited than the others you listed and he doesnt have nearly as much range. I dont think Scott would have placed Pixie on this team. This would be a horrible fit for her. Magik JUST came back to the X fold. She hasnt even completed her first mission. Lila Cheney is another teleporter but she's never been into the fighting and who knows where she is. Besides she can only teleport across galaxies which doesnt make her as fast as they'd like to be

She currently appears in Exiles v3

Well, yeah. Obviously.

Still, I'd be more inclined to trust her as my team's teleporter than Vanisher. Her readjustment period (and her New Mutants membership) aside, she'd be the perfect candidate.

Is Majik willing to kill? Dont know much of the character

I remember the editors or someone saying in an interview that Yost and Kyle like Vanisher a lot and not to expect him to leave anytime soon. Vanisher also had a decent sized role (larger than he probably deserves) in Wolverine and the X-Men which Yost and Kyle are involved in (i think). I think he's here to stay. But if theres a specific in story reason, Wolvie and Scott probably consider him more expendable for X-Force's brand of missions

Magik is still partially demonic and has an eeriness about her that tells me she's willing to kill. Plus I get the distinct impression she's about to try to "kill" every personality inside of Legion's mind she can until she gets Karma back.

maybe in the future but my point is she was too new to consider. She was not around when X-force was created nor when Vanisher was put on it. Maybe after she's done her first mission and is actually back for good among the X-men, Scott might think of placing her on the squad, not that she'd actually accept the position

The Darkchilde in her is definetly willing to kill but Illyana seems to be much more humanized now than she was when she first came back. I think she is trying to fight that dark side that she has and placing her on X-force is definetly not where she needs to go right now bc it brings her back to a place where sheis trying to avoid. It would be like putting an alcoholic in a wine cellar.

Is killing the personalities the same as killing a real person? I'm leaning towards no. I remember who Magik is now (slipped my mind) isnt she kind of "damaged goods" (lack of better phrase) at the moment that needs companionship of The New Mutants than the dangerous and possibly psychologically damaging missions X-Force goes on.

I'd honestly rather Magik stay with the New Mutants, actually. I was just saying that if they were to ever replace Vanisher, she'd be the most logical choice if she weren't already on another team.

I'm not really sure if killing Legion's personalities counts as killing part of him. It certainly looked like killing, but Super Psychic Dissociative Personality Disorder is new territory for me.
