In X-Men #206.
"He died as X-Man".

Why? If Cable is (hypothetically) detected at January 1, 3040, all X-Force has to do is travel to January 1, 3040. If X-Force waits until next week to depart for the future, Cable will still be at January 1, 3040.Apparently, once they got a lock on Cable, they had to move ASAP.
I was thinking that myself. Why? If Cable is (hypothetically) detected at January 1, 3040, all X-Force has to do is travel to January 1, 3040. If X-Force waits until next week to depart for the future, Cable will still be at January 1, 3040.
Technically he died as a member of X-force as the mission he fought in was under that newly formed team. The lines of who and who wasnt an X-men used to be very clear, but lately those lines have been so blurred. Like right now, I think everyone with them in San Francisco is considered one regardless of it they are on an active squad or notif that is the case then ANYONE who goes along on a mission with the X-men is an X-man

Yeah they dont seem final. Yost/Kyle do do alot of killing but they have a history of also doing a bit of fake "deaths". They seemingly killed Hellion and Prodigy back in New X-men only to have them alive in the next issueI'm sorry guys but the fates of Surge and Hellion hardly seem final to me. I think people here just like to complain and they will be back front and center for the next issues of X-Force.
I also hope Boomer/Boom Boom/Tabitha stays dead.
I dont know why Tabitha was labeled as Boom-Boom in this book. That was the original codename she went by back when she was in X-factor and New Mutants but she hasnt gone by that in years. She changed it to Boomer early on in X-force and a few years later she became Meltdown, which has been her codename ever since at least till now when they screwed it up in this book. Boom-Boom is what she called herself when she was a kid and it seems odd for it to be used on her now since she has grown into a young adult

Okay then I'll give Yost and Kyle some slack but for whoever had her going by that, its still a step backwards. It would be like Jean going back to calling herself Marvel Girl or Kitty, Sprite

Brubaker is responsible for that little piece of character regression.or Proudstar calling himself warpath...oh wait
You know they could be calling her that in an affectionate way. When you become aware that a close friend or family is in a dangerous situation (that u cud run in the house n have a chance to rescue)u might to flash back to your earliest/sweetest memories of them which might get u calling them by their old nicknames as a term of endearment. Like even James when he busts in looking for her calls her Tabby? Now we cant hear his voice but you can imagine his voice sounding strained as he asks who would want to kill the fun loving annoying kid sister type cornball being held by a tortuous murderer~! u might use the nickname. Talking to people in mortal dangerous in that sentimental way can remind them who they r in the moent that u care and ur coming to save their ass.Might just get them thru it....It's either great writing/characterization or a ******ed mistake..I dont know why Tabitha was labeled as Boom-Boom ?Her original codename in X-factor/New Mutants but she hasnt gone by that in years. By that definition, they should be running into Cable & the baby while she's still a baby. Less than a full year has passed by in the "present" but 7 years have passed for Cable & Hope. If we're looking at relative time travel, then Scott's team will find Cable still holding a nameless toddler. Not necessarily. There's a billion and one theories for time travel, and whichever theory reigns tends to depend on what universe or work of time travel we happen to be discussing.
From what I figure, they've been using the idea of "linear" time with all this. That is to say, one day that goes by in the time the X-Men are in, the same day goes by in the time Cable is in. It's not a matter of jumping to the day and time they supposedly locked onto Cable, a la Back to the Future. In fact, nothing was explained about the time devices - they could very well home in on the locked frequency rather than jump to a specific date and time.
Cable's also been particularly slippery in his attempts to avoid Bishop and get somewhere/sometime safe. They had a lock on where he is; as to how long he's there is anybody's guess. It doesn't do a particular service to jump there after he's already jumped ahead, wasting opportunity and time.
That just seems to me how they're handling time travel here. The closest similarity I can think of would be Chrono Trigger, in how they would essentially go back and forth through time based on whenever they happened to be, not to specific points and days and dates.
I wasnt going by what the characters said but what Yost/Kyle used when they revealed her as 1 of the mutants. It said Tabitha Smith aka Boom-Boom. The only character to call her that in the book was X-23 and she doesnt know herYou know they could be calling her that in an affectionate way.
