Comics Official X-Men Forever Thread

Well maybe that's part of Kitty having phasing powers, I dunno.

Apparently the book is selling and its staying for now.

its suspected that a bit of his healing factor got in Kitty also

That's a bit of a stretch, innit?

The claw is a hard, physical thing, I can allow for that. But the healing is in the DNA. To say that passed over as well is a bit of a reach, even for CC.

huh..wat happened? kitty is femverine now? can she still phase? i dont read this crap and really don't want to but this intrigues me..wat happened?

Yes she can phase still. It seems that the Storm that was with the X-men was not all she seemed. She killed Wolverine and betrayed the X-men so to speak. She also used lightning to burn out Sabertooth's eyes. At some point Wolverine chopped off one of his claws and is now in the possession of Kitty. We haven't received the full story on it yet.

She is essentially the same as she always was, but she got zapped by Cortez (who is a power booster) while she was phasing Wolverine and one of his claws ended up in her arm. I was just saying that she should be suffering from Admantium poisoning because of it and Roach was saying he thought the healing had been passed along as well which seems a bit far fetched to me.

:D Thanks.

Like I said, I can buy the claw passing over, just not the healing factor.

Im not to up to date and the whole adamantium poisoning thing but maybe it takes a while to happen or is it usually something that happens immediately. In the grand scheme of things I am still fairly new to the X-Universe.

interesting story. a blind sabretooth sounds pretty cool too

I hadn't thought much of it, but there was an arc where everyone was depowered (Uncanny #350 maybe?) and Logan was all sick and jazz and he said it was adamantium poisening. Normally the poisoning kept his healing factor from being too powerful. This was also touched on a bit when Mags ripped the metal out of Logan, his healing was accellerated because it no longer had to deal with metal, yadda yadda yadda....

Ahh okay.

except his healing factor apparently thought his nose was a threat and destroyed it??

wolverine reverted to a dog-like personality when he lost his adamantium at first. complete with his nose disappearing.

I've just started reading X-Men Forever! I think it's really good although I'm surprised they
killed Wolverine off so fast. He should be able to regererate.
.

Can't wait for more!! :)

well as far as i understand it, the only reason Wolverine was able to get the adamantium procedure done (beside the excruciating process) is because adamantium is posionous (like mercury). so even after it was bonded his healing factor was constantly keeping it in check. so in the in story where he loses his healing factor, his bones were killing him.

no. back in the day his healing factor was alot slower than writers make it today. a non-fatal gunshot wound would take like a full day to heal, not 4 seconds. so unlike his recent fight with Nitro, you can't regenerate if youre missing your vital organs like your heart, so coming back from a skeleton isnt gonna happen.

So let me just clarify, Shadowcat was phased into Wolverine, when Cortez, who just has power boosting powers (and not power draining powers which some people might like to make you believe) zapped them (which surely would just make Kitty more phased and Wolverine heal quicker, good plan Cortez) and so one of wolverines claws and the entire claw popping mechanism transferred into Kitty, along with his genetic ability to heal so she could heal up the holes in her hand afterwards and not die of adamantium poisoning?

Il give it to Claremont, his stories do have this whole surreally mad element to them.

Ah yes. I forgot about the nose. :p

Well, I just read the latest issue and while I liked the flashback parts with Logan and Fury I was naturally disappointed with Gambit's role -- or lack of it. The Xs go out on a mission and he vounteers to stay home and babysit? Nice to see Claremont is using his version of Remy Wisdom to its full potential.

Babysit?!! I'm sorry but Gambit's just not a babysitter kinda guy. And you say he volunteered? That's it! What issue is this?!

Issue #7 I believe. It's the first of the new arc. It will probably be the last arc I read at the rate this is going. :(
