Comics Official X-Men Forever Thread

Babysit?!! I'm sorry but Gambit's just not a babysitter kinda guy. And you say he volunteered? That's it! What issue is this?!

this is not the same Gambit you have been reading for several years...this guy doesnt want to be a superhero....lets not forget that he was asking her to leave the X-men and go thieving with him before the X-men went into space

have at it then...you dont like the book thats fine but other people do. Just seems you could be doing something else rather than coming into a thread about a book you dont like and wishing it to be cancelled....its not like this is the only X-men book.

perhaps i could. but i'm just calling it like i see it. this book will be canceled. and hopefully claremont will not be allowed near another x-book...he's be perfect for fantastic four though.

Outcry, why do you hate the Fantastic Four?

I just read #7 and this series is dreadful, really bad. Im with OutcryX. I wonder when Marvel will pull the plug on it

I literally made a very audible ''WAIT...WHUT?!" at Comic Con when Claremont was talking about all the developments in this.

Evil Storm, Winter Guard Colossus, dead Wolverine. It's like terrible fan fiction that got approval to be a canon alternate universe.

Sounds like it's got everything except some slash action and a self-insertion.

Some slash might actually help it. :p At least you know I'd keep buying it then. :D

Me to and to think this was going to be the direction the x-men were going.

Glad to see folks finally coming around. and I dont hate Fantastic Four manic..i just think that Claremont's current er..abilities..suit it more..then again, they do have mutant children, one of whom that I actually care about (Franklin)...so nah..Claremont would ruin him

I think Hickman is doing well enough, and likely a lot better than Claremont of Today would do.

Well, Gambit was always written best when he wasn't trying to be a superhero... way back in the day. When he was just hanging around the X-Men for shady reasons (participating fully, nonetheless), but largely unconcerned about their cause or goals. Those were the glory days of the Cajun.

Since then the character has obviously developed a bit (sometimes in a good way, but usually in a bad way).

It would seem Claremont's trying to recapture that Gambit, and doing so very, very poorly. Which is what he's been doing for years now: trying to recapture the talent he once had, but failing very, very poorly.

And it seems he's very very very unaware that no one thinks he's at his A game anymore. I got him to sign my trade of the Dark Phoenix Saga and told him it was the best X-Men story ever. His response?

''Except for the ones I'm doing now." :(

senility does horrible things to one's once sharp and brilliant mind(though he has always been way too wordy for my tastes....but yet his novels suck ass)

I am absolutely loving this book. I love Chris' writing. This is the x-men I know and love.
The art though, is kinda meh. Don't like the costumes. I'm willing to bet that had Jim Lee reunited with Chris on this book, all you guys complaining would be loving it right now.

the book would be pretty to look at, but it wouldnt make it better.

Will there be a X-men Season 3 of X-men Forever?

Also did anyone read the Season 2 issue 1 of X-men Forever? How was it?

Terrible, no doubt. This book is the Old Yeller of the X-Franchise. It just hasn't been shot yet.

it appears to be getting a series 3. Alan Davis and Claremont proposed Excalibur Forever and they turned it down so he could focus on the two books he has
