Could you explain what it does again? I really don't get it.
Basically the head is cut all the way along the jaw line to the back of the neck. I then hollowed out the inside of the mouth and created teeth, tongue, and a roof of the mouth. Then I placed the two parts of the head back together again, and sealed it up with some plastacine and a thin layer of latex. So basically the actor holds the the bottom of the head and pulls back on the top, making it look like hes snapped the head back and all the latex and plastacine will create a horrid tear effect. There are also several tubes in the jaw as well that blood can gush out of!
Its going to happen in one shot (well two with the illusion of it being one ) one guy will run away, with another chasing him. He will catch up to him and grab his head! At which point I will go round the back of the killer and stop the camera. We will then replace the one actor with the dummy, and the continue the shot from the back of the head, so when I carry on panning round he will peform the action on the dummy it will apear (hopfully) as if hes snapping his head back.
) Ive just ordred a wet suit which I will work on to make it look as much like the new costume as possible as well as some rubber paint to help smooth out the lumps and bumps on the mask to give it more of a matte finish.
