The Amazing Spider-Man OMG! Josh Hutcherson's Audition! Must SEE!

Can't says I cared much for that. It didn't give you very much insight into how he actually would've PLAYED Pete, mostly it was just wirework stuff.
And the few glimpses we did get into his take on the character were far too "Badass action hero" for my liking... Some of the faces he made were very Un-Spiderman.

I thought it was pretty good for what they showed. I don't understand what an unlike Spider-Man face is though. Also, if this is an indication of the type of action (and wire work) we will be seeing the next film, I'm excited.

Good chorergraphy + good wire work/stunts + good camera positioning + great editing = who really needs CGI or 3D!

^^ Hell yeah.

and the move at the (roughly) 1.22 mark was pretty cool. very Spidey like.

He looked like a pretty pissed off Petter Parker. I would've liked to have seen more of his "Spidey" dialog, meaning hearing him deliver more snappy quips. The one at the end was nice though and he had a good voice for the character.

Ultimately though, Andrew Webb is who we have and I only really want to see what he puts out lol.

Fixed. :yay:

I really wanna see all of them now, mostly garfield's though.

It was more of a throw back to the original. Made for good comedy. Needs work on the acne... :hehe:

Great things about the reboot

- Great Fighting Style
- Peter Parker Look-alike actor
This is getting good!

The choreography and camera work was good. It showed why you didn't need CGI in scenes like the armored car robbery in Spidey 1. But at the same time the staging of the scene was a litle silly. I mean you have this guy displaying clearly superhuman ability. Those guys wouldn't have kept swinging at him. So I hope we aren't going to see that kind of thing in the actuial film.

And yeah as far as his portrayal of Peter, there was little difference from the previous films. Aside from the "late for class" quip, he was just mute. I also hope in the context of the story Peter isn't going to give that much of a reveal of his powers.

So assuming this scene is taken directly from the script, is this like official confirmation we're getting another origin story? I mean, he's obviously learning to use his spider-sense/reflexes for the first time (at least that's how it looks to me)...

Absolutely pathetic on Hutcherson's part, he looks nothing like peter parker and he doesnt even have the acting skills to play super a superhero, and he hardly displayed any acting in this "audition". Ive seen better attempts on youtube, i never understood why his name was in the running. Andrew Garfield is Spider-man.

I hope the scene was just for auditioning purposes and not in the script. I don't want to see a rehash on Spider-Man 1 which was exactly what this was. It didn't help that they used music from the original series' score.

You people make me laugh. The comments for the most part from some of you come off as knee-jerk stupidity.

It's an AUDITION!

It's got sod all to do with any specific context of what will happen in the movie. It was merely an indication of various perspectives of how Josh could hndle the character. DCnightwing23, what spidey comics have you been reading? Hutcerson looked exactly like Peter in high school. The fight scenes and choreography were very good, in fact I'd go as far as top say it was better than all the wire work in all 3 of Raimi's movies and the majority of the shoddy cg renderings.

On the whole i think it was a very good audition tape and yes, i'm very curious to see what Garfield did.

Am I the only one who thought he looked constipated the whole way through?

I wanna see the others :)

Was interesting - he would have been good if the movie was Ultimat-ized. But glad he wasn't picked. Garfield fits the classic Parker look IMO.

Although, it looked good enough to warrant a Spider-Man tv show ala Smallville - I can see that working, set in high school.

That was actually pretty good. I could see how they might have really considered him for the role.

I liked him but I definitely dont see him as parker...idk...the look is off...fighting style was cool and im sure all the obvious raimi stuff is just for the audition...i wanna see garfields

This was hilariously bad. I still got chills while watching it though, due to it being new Spider-Man esque footage.

What I didn't like?

1. Acne. Totally unneeded, completely put me off when I saw him. Obviously its fake, still annoying to look at.
2. Josh Hutcherson. Doesn't really look the part, I'm glad they went with Garfield.
3. WTF? The actual movie better not use original Spider-Man soundtracks, and we definitely don't need any nods to the original (glasses falling down, fist clenching).

Other then that, the choreography was cool, and the "late to class" bit was nice to hear.

Is it me, or was he making the same exact face throughout 3/4 of that video? Anyway, I'm glad we got who we got.
