The Amazing Spider-Man Josh Hutcherson Leak

This gets more interesting with every tidbit of info :)

IMO he has the looks of TSSM-Peter, dark hair, brown eyes... To be honest, I'd like Peter to have blue eyes, but that's only because Tobey has blue eyes. Peter in the comics was always browneyed. Yeah I know... I'm a stickler for details :)

The only thing that gives me a cause for concern is that he has an latin aura surrounding him. Don't get me wrong, I do like latin people, but Peter is not supposed to be latin.

Yeah, and Tobey looks like he's Jewish or something. Besides, I disagree. I think he looks pretty white.

I told you all...fan favorites never get picked. From Christian Bale to Tobey Maguire, from The Torch playing Captain America to Heath Ledger as The Joker...very few fanboys has mentioned their names for their roles.

On the subject of Bale, are you kidding? The only reason Bale was given an audition was the massive outcry of the fans. Do you not remember the "BALE DAMMIT" campaign?

Or Edward Norton as Banner. We've been screaming for that for years.

Christian Bale WAS the fan favorite. So is Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Ed Norton as Banner.

So, yes. It does happen.

This is hilarious... comic book geeks on internet forums going "Hmmm i'll give this casting a C" or "they could of done better, he is a poor choice"

No... you are not casting directors... you were not there when he auditioned. The fact is, the kid was picked because he gave the best audition in front of the director and casting directors.

Movie directors and casting directors know more about acting and making movies than us. They are the ones in the know.

Going "this is a bad casting choice" when you have absolutely no clue about what is involved and didn't witness the audtion makes you look like an idiot.

I'm indifferent to the casting because I've never seen this kid act but Sony chose Maguire and I'm sorry, Maguire was an awful spider-man. He was boring as hell and had no charisma, save for certain parts in SM3 when he was made to act like an out of character jackass.

He wasn't my first pick either but I think he's definitely the right choice if it's true that his audition was "damn awesome". As Judge Holden said, they know better than us. I have faith in this. I'm not too sure about Lizard being the villain in this movie though. I'd rather save him for 2 or 3, building his character up in the first ones.

Have you been in a coma for the past 8 years?

Fans did not pick out Bale as the next Batman. I'm talking before there was choices from the studio. Not many people mentioned his name when we got word of a new Bat flick. And that goes twice for The Joker, actually thrice.

Bale Dammit campaign, lol. To hell with the director, Warner Bros. and casting director we have The Bale Campaign. :funny:

I actually like the hutcherson casting based on how he looks and speaks.

If he can look like how he does in this vid as opposed to the dumb-ponce-look Maguire had, it'll be fine.

pre spider-bite look??

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
Fans picked out Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, WTF, when did that happen? Deadpool's fanboys should be shot in the face!

Fanning used to creep me out in the War of the Worlds days. But she is pretty attractive now.

Fanning would be an idiot to do another franchise... unless her role in Twilight is really, really small (no idea what happens to her character). If she wants the pay check then go for it, but she will easily be a top grossing star in a few years if she isn't already with or without a CB franchise... in the entire industry.

Just because he wasn't done justice in Wolverine doesn't mean he still wasn't the best choice for the character. Besides, if you don't remember people all about Reynolds as DeadPool that just shows how new you are to this place.

OH! And we forgot Patrick Stewart! Fans have been suggesting him for Prof. X. since the 80's.

Dead wrong. Bale wasn't on the short list. Guy Pearce was the frontrunner. Studio wanted someone bigger, like Ashton Kutcher. The internet went crazy calling for Bale. The Bale Dammit campaign happened. Then, Bale was offered an audition, but the studio gave him three weeks to get up to the minimum required weight. Having just finished the Machinist, he had to get from 120 to 165 in three weeks. His doctor came out in an interview talking about how unhealthy this was. On September 11, 2003, he was announced to have gotten the role.

People mentioned his name because of American Psycho and Equilibrium. The studio wanted nothing to do with him.

You're giving fanboys way too much credit, aren't they crazy enough as it is. So basically you're saying with the calling of an internet campaign, you can get any actor you want in a comic book film? Bale happened because the director wanted him. It had nothing to do with fanboys and their battle cries for Bale.

Or it shows how horrible most fans can cast. Ryan Reynolds was horrible as an actor in both of the comic book films that he was in. Let's hope he doesn't go for a third with Green Lantern.

OH! And we forgot Patrick Stewart! Fans have been suggesting him for Prof. X. since the 80's.
Bryan Singer wasn't even a fan of X-Men, why the hell would he care who fans wanted for Prof. X? We just lucked out with Patrick. Bryan/FOX did not pick him because he was a fan favorite. That's my point, studios/director don't pick fan favorites, thank God, if Ryan Reynolds was really a fan favorite.

Er, the point is Bale was someone who fans WANTED to play Batman. It was almost unanimous. Just like Reynolds was for Deadpool, and Stewart was for Xavier.

Do you think when it came to casting those roles, the studios had no idea about fan desires?

What, are you saying FOX and WB cares about what fans desires? I can give you a long list of movies where they didn't seem to care at all. When it comes to casting, if a director is looking for fans to give him who he should cast, he shouldn't be directing that film in the first place.

You continue to prove you're not worth arguing with as you can't seem to comprehend simplistic information. Moving on. . .

Fanboys thinking that they're the reason for casting decisions, lol, you better move the hell on...

Why is that so hard to believe? We all know that fanboy desire for Venom influenced his inclusion in Spider-Man 3, so why is their influence on casting so unbelievable?

Wow.

Fact: Fans were almost UNANIMOUS on wanting Christian Bale, Ryan Reynolds, Patrick Stewart, and Edward Norton to play certain comic book characters.

Fact: Christian Bale, Ryan Reynolds, Patrick Stewart, and Ed Norton WERE cast as those characters.

That's all I'm saying. Is that there have been MANY times where a fan favorite is cast in a role. DID I EVER SAY IT WAS BECAUSE OF FAN CAMPAIGNING? No, I didn't.

However, you'd have to be moronic to think that their initial interest from the studios had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it was well know that they were the fans choice. Why do you even think Logan Lerman was sought out for a screen test in the first place?

Heck, where Deadpool is concerned, there are even pages of the actual comic where Deadpool himself talks about Ryan Reynolds.
