It's been one week today since I've had a Cigarette.

Just saying.

That's one week closer for you to fall off the wagon.

Keep up the good work. Have a cigar from time to time instead of cigarettes.

I have been. I've smoked probably 5 cigars in the last week. Which isn't that bad, considering I work for a Cigar Manufacturer/Distributor.

So you haven't quit smoking then, just changed what you smoke.

Even though technically you are correct in saying that, you should not smoking a cigar is considerably less harmful to your lungs and the lungs of others then cigarette smoke. Plus the frequency you smoke a cigar is considerably less.

I said I've stopped Cigarettes. Not Cigars. There are completely different. Cigars are not addictive, like Cigarettes are.

Hahaha! There i was, all set to say something along the lines of "Well done, Man! Keep up the good work" whenever you went and ruined it by saying you smoked five cigars in the last week! Hahaha! Sorry to say it, SuBe but you havent quit anything...

I work in the Cigar Industry. You kinda have to smoke Cigars.

Cigarettes are a completely different Animal. Cigars are like wine, they are hand crafted. Each cigar goes through between 200 and 300 hands before I see it. It's an artform like wine. Please, I have to make sure quality is up for January Production. It's my job to do so.

Cigarettes are an addiction. Cigars are not. Cigars are a lifestyle, a culture, Cigarettes are not.

That reminds me. I think it's time for a break.

I didn't quit, I stopped. You stop eating when you are full. You don't quit eating. You stop working when you go home at night, you don't quit your job.

I'm not a stink'n quitter.

I'm not a stink'n quitter.

In order to not be a quitter you have to start again. Wanna smoke? :cwink:

We'll see what happens when I get my Drink on.

I'm sure I'll run to the Hype and make a Thread about it, you know, ask advice "The Should I have a Cigarette Thread"

SuBe, we should smoke a blunt. Just you and me.
I don't smoke that. If I did, however, it would be with you. We could talk about Sharks and Science and discover the ins and outs of the Universe, together.

i had my last cigarette on new years. ugh. it sucks. quitting smoking is so stupid. why cant cigarettes be healthy for you?

I remember on the Ticker on CNN a number of years ago, 2002 I think, they said that the CDC is working on a Potential cure for Cancer using Nicotine. That Apparently, Nicotine protects certain cells "from commiting suicide", leading to a mutation and eventutally cancer. They cited that Cigarettes contain many other carcinogens (sp?) and those harm you worse than the benifits. However, they also said that Cancer rates in Cigar Smokers are much, much lower than Cigarette Smokers, leading them to look into this. Remember George Burns? He smoked between 7 and 15 cigars a day for 80+ years, lived a few days shy of 101 years old and died of Natural Causes.

lol.

I've stopped smoking a couple of times. The almighty beer or cocktail will ruin my desire to stop though.

But they're still addictive.

I've been in the Cigar Industry for over 7 years. I'm never felt a need for a cigar, I've gone weeks without smoking a cigar. Its more about the experience of it and the flavor than the need to smoke one. Cigarettes are about a need to smoke one. There is a big difference if you aren't around it every day.

You can be addicted to anything.
