I’ve only seen him in The Northman, so I can’t truthfully say whether or not I’d be into this pick.

But goddamn Grace for getting me excited about David Hyde Pierce! :argh:
Feels like Danish actors are the go to for villains in Hollywood over the last decade.
The Mikkelsen brothers, Pilou Asbæk, Ulrich Thomsen, Roland Møller, Carsten Norgaard and so on.

Claes Bang was a solid villain in The Girl in the Spider's Web, BBC's Dracula, The Outlaws and Bad Sisters.

I could see why Gunn would like Bang as he can play villains roles that are intimidating, suave, arrogant and somewhat comedic.

Mads Mikkelsen has always been my top choice for live-action Brainiac. Not a creative pick at all, but still, I think he'd be perfect.

I liked Claes Bang in Dracula and it's different from the rest of the usual suggestions to make it interesting. We will probably find out who gets the role by the end of the year.

If this information turns out to be true in its entirety, it could indicate that they are primarily looking for a voice...

Wallace Shawn ,as Mister Mxyzptlk ,was one of the suggestions I saw, which I think he fits to a T.

Could see David Hyde Pearce as Brainiac in the 1990s, or for Lois And Clark : The New Adventures Of Superman , but at this point , unless they're basically doing alot of mo-Cap, in addition to Pearce's voice , I'd want a much younger actor for Brainiac .

Claes Bang would be my choice for Brainiac of the names listed and I think would be great against Hoult and Corensweat.

Watching some recent interviews with Wallace Shawn, he has the same voice but (largely because of his age) he does speak more deliberately and doesn't have the same energy he had in a movie like The Princess Bride, so the idea of him voicing Braniac does make a lot more sense.
