I watched in theatres, simply because I am a big Jack Black fan. Liked the movie. But I continue to be disturbed by how much Colin Hanks looks like his father. He even has his little acting ticks. It is really messed up! I am pretty sure he is cloned.
Roger Ebert described it pretty well. It follows the teen formula, but with an Indie film spirit. I think that's what stood out to me. It does FEEL like an Indie flick, but it's very much a teen movie and is produced by MTV.
i can't believe that this movie was from that long ago already, I mean not that it was super notable but thats the point, I don't remember it being from 8-9 years back.
You'll truely realize how old this movie is when they play Butterfly by Crazy Town. The moment I heard that I was like, "daaammmnnn. That takes me back."
This is a ****ing classic, IMO, It needs a damn Blu-ray release. It's so damn funny and its prolly one of Blacks best, man ahs he gone down hill as far as product out put.
I love that movie. My favorite parts are with Mike White as the illiterate English teacher. The DVD features have a bunch of commercials for the movie; most of which involve Shaun in class. They're as good as parts of the movie.
I really liked this movie when it came out, jack blacks best comedy if you ask me. I also dont know why colin hasnt had a bigger career by now, youd think if you were tom hanks son that it would open some big doors for you.
the only note worthy movies since orange county are:
untraceable
king kong
house bunny(shivers in fear)
Chevy Chase was just a one-scene cameo. And, yeah, I also loved Mike White's small role. He has such a goofy face. This movie is filled with cameos. Chevy Chase, Ben Stiller, Kevin Kline, Monica Keena, Lizzy Caplan...I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.
