Well, as expected, Spider-Man in the MCU has mechanical webbing. I know it was 99% futile to hold out for more organics, but eh it's what I ended up doing anyway.

I daresay organics will most likely never return, as I'm sure most people would be totally happy with. Just sucks that us who do really like it, won't get a bone thrown our way ever again. Guess that'll make the Raimi movies that much more precious I guess.

Never say never again.

Just trying to be a realist. :oldrazz:

The only way I imagine organics coming back is, a new alternate comic series, like Ultimate Spider-Man, or a cartoon series. But since MCU Spider-Man is most likely going to skyrocket Spider-Man's popularity through the roof, mechanicals will be front and center for a long long time.

Last year around this time I was playing around with a little fanfiction Spider-Man story. Which had a justification for organic webbing in the wrists.

Basically it followed closely to the Amazing Spider-Man movies idea of cross species genetics. Since I always felt that given the nature of that plot, organic webbing had more of a plausible reason to exist than in Raimi's movies.

Overall the spider that bit Peter was one of many being used to create super soldiers. Or rather once branch of super soldiers. Those exposed to the spider gene would be used for covert stealth operations, and infiltration. Given their ability to stick to walks, and the overall "quietness" of their webbing. This is why the spinnerets would form in the wrist, they were engineered to do, since it's a tactical place to do so.

I haven't been back to the idea in a year, but since the MCU Spidey reveal, I've felt like digging it up.

Thoughts from you orangic enthusiasts?

So, which form of media would you want organic webbing to return in?

Cartoon?
Video game?
New comic series?

I was hanging out with my girlfriend yesterday, and I met 2 of her friends, whom are fellow nerds. Got to talking about Marvel and Civil War, and Spider-Man popped up. I talked about my preference for organic webbing and her friends were also fans of that idea. 2 more supporters.:oldrazz:

Hm...is all 3 an option...of not. Game as an unlockable feature. Or maybe default. For example. You'd start out with Organic Webbing but no special attacks just simple straight forward stuff. Then you'd get webshooters that can help you do specials with the organic webs and shoot with more power and further range?

Or maybe as you upgrade spiderman if you start with artificial eventually you unlock the ability for organic webs that don't run out. Which would seems op, but it'd be towards the end of the game and the villains would still be very difficult even with the extra webbing.

What kind of 'tribute' to Organic webbing are we offering? Our own 'organic' produce?

Plus, having organics could be bring out a painful scene in which a villain breaks his wrists to stop his webbing. I love how brutal that sounds.

Great idea. I am surprised Raimi never went there, although it could have worked great in SM4 had it been made.

I loved the organic shooters. I got so used to it that I completely forgot about Peter not having them in other forms.
