Some reviews/recaps from the AFI Fest premiere are trickling in. So far, so good. THR and Variety raved about it. Even the reviews that were mixed praised the acting. Two of the reviews said it's Bale's career best.

I watched this movie almost two years ago in a test screening. IT SUCKED BALLS. Unless they've made major changes about the pacing, it still gonna suck.
Seriously, it was incredibly boring. In fact, the trailer sells a completely different movie, so it seems they are aware of that now. Nevertheless, sucked. Balls.

Filming started April last year. So, explain to me exactly how you saw it two years ago, when they didn't even start filming until a year and a half ago.

Yes, sir. I apologize for the erroneous information. It just seemed like a long, long time ago.

I found the screening date. It was October 2012 and the movie was going to be released on November 30th, 2012. I don't know why they've postponed it for a whole year, but from the screening and the audience reaction it was clear the movie had a lot of issues.

Maybe they fixed them. Maybe now it's watchable. The trailer sure looks better. Anyway, I'm not going to rewatch it to see if that's true. I'd rather watch some "children" movie instead.

No? Really? Why not? The stuff I watched wasn't even the final cut of the movie. I liked Scott Cooper's previous film and I respect the Christian Bale Beliebers here, but unless they fixed the pacing (which I believe they did, since the runtime is now just 116 min), we will have, you know, to put up with each other opinions, man.
