Ozark (Netflix)

I'm going to watch at least the first two episodes tomorrow but I don't think I'll be binging them all at once, even though it's the final stretch.

I normally like to pace myself with netflix release and watch a couple episodes a day but fort his...I think I'm binging it all at once. I dont want anything spoiled.

It’s only 7 episodes so I will probably get through them over the weekend

Yeah, I only watched the first episode and they're really not wasting any time.

There is absolutely no way I'm not going to finish this today after watching the first two episodes. I'm still sad this is the end of this show but its off to one hell of a start already.

Man what an emotional finale. Some things i didnt expect happened. I cant believe

they killed Ruth! I would’ve placed all the bets in Vegas that Ruth would’ve be the one bulletproof character on the show but boy was i wrong. Perhaps its really the only way her character could have gone but that was a gut punch to me :(

People are going to be very divided on the ending, but damn the last 20 minutes of that finale had me on the edge of my seat and man did they do Ruth justice this season.

Seasons 3 and 2 are still my favorite overall, but both parts of this final season were pretty satisfying although I think the pacing for the second part could have been a lot tighter IMO.

Having had time to digest this a little, I have to admit guys that I feel the ending...didnt quite stick the landing. I felt like as we were approaching the finale, the story pace really lacked urgency and escalation and characters were doing odd things and acting out of character. And what ultimately was the point of
the car crash? It ended up having no consequence. That was disappointing.
Idk, I got this feeling halfway through the season that the writers were struggling to wrap this all up.

But, please don't get me wrong. Ozark on its worst episode runs rings around 99% of other TV out there. This was an absolutely fantastic show overall that was tense, gripping and engaging from the first episode. I just felt this last batch of episodes got a bit rocky as we were approaching the end.

I didn't like the ending (and most of this final season) but overall it was a really good show.
I'm gonna miss Ruth, the best f***** character ever in a long while.

I thought everything after the car crash was a dream. Everything was going Wendy’s way up until Ruth died. I thought they would reveal it was Wendy’s dream as she was dying in the crash. Then that ending…it was like the Sopranos. Yeah it will probably divide the fans

Not sure how I feel about that ending. It was good, but
I hated seeing Ruth die. Though she was impulsive like Darlene and that will ultimately bite you in the ***.

Also, I guess with Ruth dead, the Byrdes may have to stay in Osage to run the casino? I suppose Rachel could do it but I don’t think she’s really cut out for that. Some loose ends in this finale but at least they didn’t totally **** the bed like Killing Eve did. Though I do have to admit the car crash was pointless. They ultimately shouldn’t have started the season with it. It would have been much more of a shock to not know it was coming, especially since there weren’t any consequences.

Also, Veronica Falcon certainly made the most of her role on this show! She’s great in everything and as soon as I heard she had joined the cast, I knew she was going to be a major force on the show.

Also, let’s pour one out for Detective Johnny Cash. So smart and yet so stupid that he waited WITH the evidence just because he wanted to tell off the Byrdes. Nice shot, Jonah hahahaha.

Show was so good that even if they jumped the shark numerous times imo this season with the constant reworking deals with FBI I thought the ending was appropriate

People that can manage money and make it clean for irs purposes those people are kinda bulletproof the 1% will protect those people ahead of blood relatives

Yup and i did really like the final line of the finale: “since when?” I felt that was poignant in a lot of ways.

I love how at the beginning of the series, I thought we were going to watch the transformation of Marty from being a guy who was in over his head and just skating by using his brains and a lot of luck and then turn into this evil genius. But it was Wendy who everyone should have been afraid of this whole time. I honestly thought the show would end with Marty sacrificing himself for Wendy or giving her up because she was out of control but I think I liked how it actually ended better.

I thought it was telling when Marty threaten the guy in the stop light that one phone call you;ll be dead he completely turned at that point and then the final scene it looked as if he gave jonah the go ahead nod to do it and looked proud they they finally got Jonah on there side

You know what my absolute favorite scene in the series is? I cant remember which episode but it was the one where Marty and Wendy got into this heated argument at their home and while they're arguing, Charlotte is outside drowning in the ocean. Omg, for me that was one of the most tense moments of television ever and on so many levels it summed up what this show was all about.

No doubt about it, the writing felt very off in the final few episodes. The writing behind this show is usually so sharp and well thought out but towards the end it just felt like things were happening for no real discernible reason and they didnt know how to cap it all off.
