Kid probably watched Pearl Harbor at a young age. That'd explain the recurring nightmares. I would if I saw that movie.
Are they going to convert to Hinduism or something now?
It's knid of funny how such vague descriptions the kid gave are enough "proof" to them not only to believe the kid's a reincarnated fighter pilot, but that it's this ONE MAN out of thousands...
Well, he apparently gave out a full name, the name of his ship and the place that he died.
Actually that happens frequently, he isn't the only case to have claim of ties to a past life. Kids are young, they tend to be more at touch spiritually, that's why they can seem to see ghosts etc, for instance.
They see ghosts because the ghosts have more fun scaring young children.

I've heard of cases where kids act out certain parts of their reincarnated self, but perhaps from the age of 6 and onwards, they lose the memories and just get on with their lives.
It's not totally implausible the kid would have to be believed he's a reincarnation of a WW2 fighter pilot. It also sounds like the parents didn't believe him at first (who wouldn't?) but after research, finally had to. After all, he gave the name of his ship and the place where he died. That's a lot better that parents thinking a kid who's seen a ghost etc, is a liar. It's not like these parents are getting anything out of it anyway.
Don't be to quick to dismiss it.

Children don't dismiss ghosts by saying they're just hallucinating from being tired/stoned/hungover.As opposed to adults hey?
I'm gonna throw this out there...
So their son is a reincarnated WWII fighter pilot...
Does this really change their day to day lives?
I think I was in the band on the Titanic. I have a phobia of cruise ships and I still don't stop playing when the director tells us to stop.
That's funny, cause I'm pretty sure I was the guy who hit the iceburg which caused the Titanic to sink. My ex-girlfriend says I ruin everything.
Don't be to quick to believe it.
