That's part of the humor. Tom is going to screw up on a weekly basis, and Anne is going to take him back every time because the town is so damn small that Tom is probably one of the least objectionable men around.

that was just a fantastic episode. Amy pulled off the acting amazingly when Leslie was in the voting booth. I was totally tearing up myself. Several different points in the episode were tear inducing.

He could come back in the early part of next season while Ben is away in Washington as another relationship obstacle. Michal Schur said that Ben will be back in November after the senate elections, similar to when Jim came back to Scranton.
