Superman Returns parts that made you tear up and/or fully, full-on cry

which is what it was supposed to be, and good writing there, in BB Racheal is an add in character for Bruce and Bruce can have those freely. Unlike superman who is tied down to one woman.

As for calling this movie a chick flick, it was my best friend sGf for called it that. Yeah she liked it but she said to her it felt like a chick flick in some ways.

God, you're such a liar. You've been calling this film a chick flick from the beginning, and guess what? YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE! You've been hating on it from day one without seeing the final product.

All I've seen is you trolling, being stupid, and not offering any kind of intelligent contributions to the debates. So either see the movie, form your own conclusion, or get off of the forums of a movie you hate. Simple as that.

oh i loved the movie so much! there was so many times where i got emotional. i tear'd up a little bit at times.
i loved the scene with Superman and Lois go for a fly at night. and the love theme music played. i love that song. it was revamp'd tho, so it kinda dragged on for awhile before we really got to hear the real heart of it, which we did right when they were coming back to the Daily Planet. and it was just awesome. :) and i wanted them to kiss. but they couldn't. darn. :(
and then the next scene was funny right after that, when Lois came back inside and Clark was there eating a burrito!! :D lol oh, so great!
i also got emotional a lot near the last 20 minutes or so. so many sequences. when Superman was getting his ass-kick'd by Luthor and his thugs. i felt sad. and when Superman fell into the water and Jor-El's voice started speaking. and then Lois was like "we have to go back!" just like Leia said to Lando to save a wounded Luke. (i love Empire Strikes Back)
and Jason was like "he's down there." "are you sure?". "yeah.".
and then Lois and Richard dive in to save Superman.
and then Lois yanks the kryptonite out of him. ;) :D hehe
and then i absolutely loved when Superman left the plane and flew up to the sun and recharged his powers. it was so beautiful! a great great scene.
and then when Lois and Jason visit Superman at the hospital. that whole sequence was touching. i love it.
and ofcourse the end, where Superman gives the Jor-El speech to Jason. beautiful. :)

"i'm always around." :)

but in general, the whole movie itself made me emotional, becuz it's been so long since we've really seen a great Superman movie. and to finally have Superman back into our lives with this movie was so wonderful. it brought back memories of when i was a little kid loving the Christopher Reeve movies, wishing i was Superman. and this movie Superman Returns was such a great homage to those old movies that we all grew up with. and Brandon Routh did such a great job of tapping into that Christopher Reeve nostalgia. and i love Christopher Reeve. Christopher will always be Superman, and it feels like he's still with us in this movie.
thank you Brandon Routh and Bryan Singer. for keeping Christopher Reeve's Superman alive.

This doesn't make me cry, but it does tear me up somewhat: The quote in my sig.

It's sad because it's so true in our world today. :(

Superman's quote was a modified version from Jor-El's to fit Jason. It went something like this:

Sometimes you will feel like an outcast. But you will not be alone. You will never be alone. You will make my strength your own, and see my life through your own eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father, and the father becomes the son.

awesome..so what was Jor-els version? he said it somewhere near the begininning of the film

I got kind of emotional when Superman stepped out into the stadium and everyone was going craaaaaaaaazy. I waslike OMG HES BACK!!

wut was also a really cool scene or got goosebumps runin all over me was wen he went to FOS and saw that his crystals are missing...mannn the look in his eyes made me think "oh god dont mess wit Superman, cuz he is pissssed"....did u see how flew away, he was REALLLLY PISSSSED

I cried when I realized I paid $12 to see the 1978 Superman plot all over again, in IMAX 3D.

OK, fine-- I teared up a bit for the shuttle rescue.

there were so many! I was a little bit emotional when Superman finally said goodbye to Lois, knowing that he might die and leave for good in dealing with New Krypton.

being a huge fan of the superman movies, i have always said that in my opinion SUPERMAN The MOVIE is by far the best ever comic book movie ever made. i got teary eyed hearing john williams theme and seeing the blue and white 3d text. i thought to myself FINALY after all the developmental hell this movie has gone through over the past decade we have a superman movie.

good job singer!!

Just got outta the movie an hour ago...WOW! It was AMAZING! Definately #1 or 2 on my list (need a 2nd viewing to see if it passes BB)...

I didn't cry (cuz I don't do that at movies) but I definately got SUPER-emotional when Superman was gettin' his a** handed to him by Luthor and his thugs...

Seriously like, I have NEVER seen Superman in such a vunerable position before (I love SV, but it doesn't count since its well...NOT Superman) as he was just gettin kicked around and beaten to a pulp, I just remember (mentally) screaming "STOP! THAT'S ENOUGH! STOP IT!" over and over again...I mean it was gut-wrenching watchin that scene...and when they put his face underwater? Oh man that was rough...

Definately the most powerful scene of the movie for me...

i've said it before...

the scene where Lex and his thugs kick the hell out of Supes? I'm not saddened by it, it made me cringed, first because those kicks seems too real i can almost feel it, second, this is what disturbed me... while Superman crawls his way through the mud with the thugs constantly kickin' him, is he screaming? I meant screaming like...sissy? sorry i couldn't find better word. but a real Superman would have just maintain a little bit of dignity, even at his worst moment. Singer made this one particularly too over the top... well, there goes my opinion...

Like a sissy? A guy who normally does not ever get hurt being lynched by a bunch of thugs? Seems that he might be feeling "getting the crap kicked out of him" for the first time. He might be expressing a lot of agony in that kind of situation.

^ Exactly.

Hey you might just 'grunt' when you get kicked darthbakpao, but most of us...we scream (cuz' that s*** hurts!)

Not a cryer, but when Bruce, the henchman, was beating up Lois and Lois giving Jason the "help" look, it gutted me. And also, when Lex was beating the crap out of Superman. Saddening. Kitty feeling sorry for Supes and walking down to Lex, crying, was the icing on the cake.

Seeing the thugs give Superman one of the most brutal beatdowns I've seen in movies was hard, but what got to me was when he stood up after it, tried to look as strong and regal as possible, then keeled over into the abyss.

Yeah, the beating was actually hard to look at. It was pretty damn brutal. I felt bad for Batman after he got hit by that fear gas.......but I felt twice as bad for Superman being stuck in that horrible corner.

the kid runs back to Supes, and plants a kiss on him

Here's my top 4:

1) Superman getting beaten on Lex's "new Krypton"... was done really emotionally, especially with Superman kind of yelling and begging since he was powerless (the little boy behind me cried too... he was dressed in full Superman garb..)

2) Lois, on the plane, being the first to see Superman out of the corner of her eye... subtle, but like all of Singer's scenes, well done.

3) Superman "dying" was really well-done

4) Seeing Lois and family sinking in the yacht... it was just cool to see everything get darker through the door's window, and you could tell how sad Richard was as he was holding his family

Yes, I'm glad someone mentioned the sinking of the yacht. I mean, imagine what Richard must of felt like holding Lois and his kid in his arms, knowing they were going to die. Chilling.

be honest.

i'm a cryer, i won't hide it...

when they were beating superman on new krypton, i teared up... it was like watching a hate crime.

when superman was talking to his son (yeah, i called him 'his son' not 'the kid' or 'jason' or 'can-head') at the end, and he gave him the speech his father gave him. routh's face/expression just sold what could have been an otherwise corny scene.

and, again, i'm sure there area few more.... this was a very powerful movie in alot of ways.

I wasnt even posting but had to log in just to say this is pathetic.

You need to see more movies.
