be honest.

i'm a cryer, i won't hide it...

when they were beating superman on new krypton, i teared up... it was like watching a hate crime.

when superman was talking to his son (yeah, i called him 'his son' not 'the kid' or 'jason' or 'can-head') at the end, and he gave him the speech his father gave him. routh's face/expression just sold what could have been an otherwise corny scene.

and, again, i'm sure there area few more.... this was a very powerful movie in alot of ways.

The audience was definately emotionally reacting to the last 15 minutes.

I saw so many girls with tissues tearing up.

Yes, I'm suprised just how powerful and emotional this film was....

I didn't cry...or tear up....but I definitely was saddened deeply by the ''hate crime" you described. Especially when Kitty started tearing up.

The plot and the kid made a tear come to my eye.

Casting was near spot on though.

u could see routh almost to tears in that final scene with his son..all in the eyes..powerful scene.

LOL, i said that in another thread, except it was all in caps.

I cried When Lex & his thugs Were beating The crap out of Superman on New Krypton .

I cried When Sups went to see his son Jason , giving him the same speech as Jor-EL did when he was a baby .

I started to tear up When Lois told Richard she wasn't in love with Superman . I felt Clark's pain as he flew up into the sky with Jor-EL's words in his head . It looked like he wanted to cry. But I'm sure he knew deep down She still loved him.

When Luthor's henchmen beat up on Superman and the music in that scene was really shocking, also felt bad for Supes after he eavesdrops on Lois saying that she didn't love him and the camera focuses on his face when flying.

YES! I balled out like a baby.:(

1. When Superman was being beaten by Lex Luthor and his henchmen/Reciting the speech of his father to his son.

2. Rising to the sun to strengthen himself again.

Those were the main ones that made me choke up.

I teared up at the end of Cars.
Some long distance commercials choke me up.
Didn't come close to either with SR.
I just didn't feel it.

Oh man, when at the end Superman flies up, and up, and up...and then he does the Chris Reeve patrolling look and looks at the camera....SUPERMAN HAS RETURNED!!!!

For me, I teared up when you see all of those well-wishers outside of the hospital. He may feel alone (like we all do sometimes), but he never will be when he is loved by so many.

The speech was really sweet, but that wasn't one of my emotional teary moments. Just, "Awwwwww..." I actually got more emotional when I saw Jason going over Superman's costume and touching it. That was done very well - you don't hear what Lois is telling Superman, but you just know what it was by watching Jason.

The money shot for me was when he was recharging and you see how small he is against the sky. I dunno, those kinds of shots are always    for me. In BB, my favorite shot was the dawn city sweep, because you see how alone he is, just one man on a great quest. The sun-recharge scene was like that, except on a larger and more naturalistic scale. And then when he's falling and falling, and you hear in the distance...*poom* That was beautifully done as well. A ton of gorgeous shots in this movie.

Nice topic for a thread. So many emotional moments for me . . .

When Superman first sees Lois again aboard the crowded airplane. There are dozens of other people there but he only has eyes for her.

When Superman tells Lois "I'm sorry I left you."

The way he holds Lois as they fly silently together back to Metropolis

The shot of Glenn Ford's photo on Ma Kent's mantle

When Lois leans over to whisper something in Superman's ear in the hospital room

The gleam in Superman's eyes when he sits by his son's bedside

The dedication with "honor and respect to Christopher Reeve and Dana Reeve"

I thought the most emotional part was Superman getting beaten up by Luthor.

That was a great shot as well!

Yea I didn't cry either, but I was upset seeing Superman get beaten up. :(

i wasnt prepared for how touching it would be , jason was very endearing and when he followed his moms lead in the hospital and kissed superman... then the scene at the end .. superman speaking to sleeping jason... beautiful..
definately had a tear

emtional yes.... seriously i thought it was a bit much and made me wanna leap outta myseat and kick some *ss

i'm not really a cryer. i was deeply moved though, specially the last scene with Superman's blessing to Jason. very touching.

there was one part that has gotten me very sentimental to the point of getting misty-eyed. its the dedication of the film to CHRISTOPHER REEVE and DANA REEVE.

The ending where Supes talking to his son like his dad told him was very touching. I didn't cry, but it was very powerful stuff. You can tell Routh was getting water in his eyes while delievering the speech. He really prove he can act. Kudos to Singer for getting the right guy for Superman. :supes:
